f. Attach the wire harness clamp.  

g. Connect the air pump's connector.  

h. Connect the No. 2 and No. 3 air hoses.

4. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE 

a. Connect the water by-pass pipe with water hose. 

HINT: 

Install the hose so that the direction of the hose clamp is as indicated in the illustration. 

b. Install the 3 bolts. 

Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

c. Connect the No. 6 water by-pass hose.  

5. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE (See INSTALLATION )  

6. INSTALL FAN SHROUD (see INSTALLATION )  

7. CONNECT INLET RADIATOR HOSE  

8. CONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE  

9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )  

10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH ELEMENT (See INSTALLATION )  

11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (see REPLACEMENT )  

12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )  

13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )  

14. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See REPLACEMENT )

REMOVAL 

HINT: 

If the thermostat was not installed, cooling efficiency would decrease  Even if the engine tends to overheat, do 
not remove the thermostat

REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See REPLACEMENT )

DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (see REPLACEMENT )  

3

REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

4

DISCONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE  

5

REMOVE WATER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH THERMOSTAT

Disconnect the No  2 and No  3 air hoses

Disconnect the air pump's connector   

c

Disconnect the air pump connector clamp's holder   

d

Using a clip remover, detach the wire harness clamp   

e

Disconnect the No  5 water by-pass hose   

f

Remove the air tube bracket's bolt

Remove the 3 nuts, water inlet with thermostat and gasket
