c. Remove the O-ring from the axle hub.  

7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD) 

a. Remove the 4 bolts.  

b. Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap out the front drive shaft from the front axle hub.

c. Remove the axle hub and dust cover from the steering knuckle.  

d. Remove the O-ring from the axle hub.  

DISASSEMBLY 

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL ADJUSTING NUT (for 2WD) 

a. Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the adjusting nut. 

SST 09930-00010

NOTE:

Be careful not to damage the drive shaft boot.

NOTE:

Do not allow foreign matter, etc. to contact the ABS rotor bearing.

b. Install a nut to the front axle hub, and fix it in a vise.  

c. Using SST and the L-type handle, remove the front wheel adjusting nut. 

SST: 09602-60010

2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE WITH ABS ROTOR BEARING ASSEMBLY 

a. Gently fix the front axle hub in a vise.

b. Using SST, remove the bearing. 

SST: 09950-40011 (09951-04020) (09952-04010) (09953-04020) (09954-04010) (09955-04061) 
(09957-04010) (09958-04011)  

SST: 09950-60010 (09951-00550)  

c. If part of the bearing remains in the front axle hub, use SST to remove it. 

SST: 09950-00020  

SST: 09950-00030  

NOTE:

Do not damage the threads of the hub bolts.

3. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL 

a. Using a screwdriver, pry the oil seal.

REASSEMBLY 

1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL 

a. Using SST and a press, press in a new oil seal. 

SST: 09608-36010  

SST: 09950-70010 (09951-07100)  

NOTE:

Do not allow foreign matter, etc. to contact the ABS rotor bearing.

NOTE:

Do not damage the oil seal.

2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE WITH ABS ROTOR BEARING ASSEMBLY 

a. Using SST and a press, press in a new bearing. 

SST: 09608-32010

3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL ADJUSTING NUT (for 2WD) 

a. Using SST, install a new adjusting nut. 

SST: 09602-60010  

Torque: 382 N*m (3895 kgf*cm, 282 ft.*lbf)  

NOTE:

Insert 4 bolts into the bearing before installing the axle hub.

NOTE:

Make sure to securely fit the bearing to the axle hub.
