1.2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION OF THE SHIFT-DOWN SAFETY

The shift-down safety prevents shifting down
from the high auxiliary gearbox to the low
auxiliary gearbox when the vehicle speed is too
high.
Shifting down from the high to the low auxiliary
gearbox when the vehicle speed is too high
could cause serious damage to the clutch plate,
gearbox and engine because of the reduction in
the auxiliary gearbox.

The safety is enabled automatically when the
vehicle speed (frequency value) exceeds a
certain setpoint.
This vehicle speed (frequency signal) is
programmed with DAVIE in the CTE.
