-  Drill out original joint with spot weld 

drill bit. 

    

-  Separate joint to wheel house. 

-  Make separating cut with body saw 

VAG1523. 

-  Offset body side.

Replacement part  

Preparing new part 

-  Remove excess material. 

 Tail light mount 

    

-  Make holes in flange of new part. 

-  Weld new part in, RP-spot weld 

seam.

Welding in place  

  

  

-  Install and secure new part in 

position.

-  Weld in cross panel, RP-spot weld 

seam. 

-  Weld remaining joint, SG-plug weld 

seam. 

    

-  Weld in cross panel, RP-spot weld 

seam. 

-  Weld remaining joint, SG-plug weld 

seam.

-  At parting cut, make overlap weld, 

SG continuous seam (staggered). 

-  Weld in sealing plate
