– Disconnect connector -2-.
– Remove the three screws -3-.
– Remove window regulator motor together with control unit

-1- from mounting brackets.

Installing

WARNING

If a new window regulator motor is installed (door control unit),

the additional functions and the excess force limitation feature

have to be coded!

the splines between window regulator motor and cable drum

engage more easily.

– Screw in the three screws -3-.
Specified torque for bolts -3-: 4 Nm.
– Connect connector -2-.

WARNING

Before installing door trim, check that the holes in the door

panel are sealed with respective stickers 

⇒ page 114

 .

– A new window regulator motor must be coded using the vehi‐

cle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- .

– The work procedure and notes on the automatic window rais‐

ing and lowering system as well as on the excess-force limi‐

tation feature can be found in ⇒ Maintenance ; Booklet  .

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing window regula‐

tor

Note

Removal and installation are described only for the right window

regulator. The removal and installation of the left window regulator

is similar.

Carry out following work:
– Remove door window 

⇒ page 206

– Removing window regulator motor 

⇒ page 212

– Release locking hook of cable drum -arrows b- and push into

door.

– Only undo lower nuts -3- and push threaded bolts of window

regulator into door.

– Loosen upper nuts -3- (do not remove completely), move to‐

gether with window regulator in -direction of arrow a- and push

into door.

– Remove window regulator -2- together with cable drum out of

opening in door -arrows c-, -d- and -e-.

Carry out following work:
– Insert window regulator -2- together with cable drum through

opening in door -arrows a-, -b- and -c-.

– Insert upper threaded bolts with nuts -3- through the door skin

and move in -direction of arrow d-.

– Insert lower threaded bolts of window regulator through the

door skin.

– Screw on lower nuts -3- and then tighten all nuts -3-.
Specified torque for nuts -3-: 8 Nm
– Insert guides of cable drum through door skin until locking

hooks engage -arrows e-.
