Carry out following work:
– Align seal -1- with B-pillar and press evenly onto door flange

-2- by hand.

Removing and installing door inner seal

During production, a sealant is applied to the door inner seals,

which are then placed on the door flange and rolled on.

When removing the seal, the sealant is distributed across the

inside of the seal. The sides are bent upwards slightly when

this is being done. If the seal is then refitted, sealing and firm

seating are no longer guaranteed.

Therefore, each seal that is completely removed must be re‐

placed with a seal known as a “tap-on seal”.

If a seal has been partially removed, squeeze sides of seal

together before refitting.

The removal and installation sequence is only for the right door

inner seal. The removal and installation of the left door inner

seal is similar.

Removing

Carry out following work:
– To remove door inner seal, remove pillar trims as required ⇒ 

General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.  70 ; Pillar and side

trims

– Pull door inner seal -1- off body flange -2-.

Installing

Carry out following work:
– Align door inner seal -1- so that vulcanised point -arrow a- is

at same height as lower hinge -arrow b-.

– Start installing door inner seal -1- at top radius of door aperture

-arrow b-.

– Install sill panel strip ⇒  General body repairs, interior; Rep.

gr.  68 ; Sill panel strips .

– Remove side panels ⇒  General body repairs, interior; Rep.

gr.  70 ; Pillar and side panel trim .

Note

Removal and installation are described only for the right door

outer seal. Removal and installation of the left door outer seal

are similar.

Check clips securing door outer seal for damage, renew if

necessary.

– Pull door outer seal -1- off door -3- complete with the clips
