a. Disconnect the N2 master switch connector.  

b. Disconnect the O5 switch connector.  

c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. 

Standard resistance  

STANDARD RESISTANCE TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION 

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR  

OK: Go to Next Step  

6. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

a. Remove the master switch (see REMOVAL ).  

b. Reconnect the master switch connector.  

c. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go TO POWER WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE AT ALL  

DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW AUTO DOWN FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE 

DESCRIPTION 

If the AUTO DOWN function does not operate, the cause may be one or more of the following: 



The power window regulator master switch has a malfunction.  



The front power window regulator motor LH (for driver side) has a malfunction.  



The wiring between the power window regulator master switch and the front power window regulator 
motor LH (for driver side) is open or shorted.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 

a. Check that the manual UP/DOWN function of the power window regulator master switch can 

operate the driver door power window. 

OK: Manual UP/DOWN function operates normally.  

NG: OTHER PROBLEM (see DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE WITH 
POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH ) 

OK: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (see 
REMOVAL ) 

POWER WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE AT ALL 

DESCRIPTION 

If all of the power windows do not operate, the power window regulator master switch may have no power or 
may be malfunctioning.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY 

GROUND) 

a. Disconnect the N2 master switch connector.  

b. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector. 

Standard voltage  

for Regular Cab:  

MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND VOLTAGE (FOR REGULAR 
CAB) 

for Double Cab:  

MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND VOLTAGE (FOR DOUBLE CAB) 

for CrewMax:  

MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND VOLTAGE (FOR CREWMAX)
