INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

a. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

B: Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM ) 

A: Go to next step  

2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT) 

a. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "DATA LIST" or "Data List" (see 

DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

a. Remove the light control rheostat (see REMOVAL ).  

b. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. 

Standard resistance:  

w/o TAIL Cancel Switch

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - LIGHT CONTROL 

RHEOSTAT) 

a. Disconnect the J28 meter connector.

b. Disconnect the L4 rheostat connector.  

c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
