ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT INDICATOR LIGHT 

a. 4HI Indicator Light: 

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.  

2. Change the 4WD control switch from 2WD to 4H.  

3. Check the 4HI indicator light.

HINT: 



*1: When only 1 wheel's speed sensor is malfunctioning, the switching operation is performed 
based on the other 3 wheels. If the switch position and actuator match, fail-safe is deactivated.  



*2: When 2 wheels or more are malfunctioning, switching is not possible. If the speed sensor 
returns to normal, the fail-safe is deactivated.  



When the switching operation is performed during cruise control AUTO driving, if the switch 
completion does not occur 5 seconds after the switching operation, the cruise control system is 
turned off.
