DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 

a

for Manual Tilt: 

Remove the steering column assembly (See REMOVAL )

for Manual Tilt and Telescopic: 

Remove the steering column assembly (See REMOVAL )  

c

for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic: 

Remove the steering column assembly (See REMOVAL )

REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual 

NOTE:



When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized 
after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).  



After the ignition switch is turned off, the navigation system requires 
approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and 
settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait 90 
seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) 
battery terminal.

INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below  

Standard Resistance

If the result is not as specified, replace the ignition switch assembly
