REMOVAL

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

for Manual Tilt: 

Remove the steering column (See REMOVAL )

for Manual Tilt and Telescopic: 

Remove the steering column (see REMOVAL )  

NOTE:



Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected 
(see INITIALIZATION ).  



After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system 
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of 
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch 
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from 
the negative (-) battery terminal.

REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual 
Tilt) (See DISASSEMBLY )

REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual 
Tilt and Telescopic) (See DISASSEMBLY )  

5

REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Power 
Tilt and Power Telescopic) (See DISASSEMBLY )  

6

REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See DISASSEMBLY )  

INSPECTION

INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

a

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below  

Standard resistance  

IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

If the result is not as specified, replace the ignition switch assembly
