DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

Remove the terminal cap

Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire

Disconnect the starter connector

Remove the 2 bolts and starter

REMOVE REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT 

NOTE:



Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected 
(see INITIALIZATION ).  



After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system 
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of 
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch 
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from 
the negative (-) battery terminal.

Remove the nut, and disconnect the lead wire from the repair service starter kit

Remove the 2 screws which are used to secure the repair service starter kit to the starter drive 
housing

Remove the repair service starter kit

Remove the return spring and plunger

REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

Remove the 2 bolts, and pull out the starter yoke together with the starter commutator end frame

Remove the starter commutator end frame from the starter yoke

REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE PLATE

Remove the starter armature plate from the starter yoke

REMOVE STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME COVER

Using a screwdriver, remove the starter commutator end frame cover
