3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (See REMOVAL )  

4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See REPLACEMENT )  

5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

a. Remove the front wiper motor and link (see REMOVAL ).  

6. REMOVE FRONT COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

a. Disconnect the 2 washer hoses.  

b. Remove the 7 bolts and front cowl top outer panel.

7. REMOVE V-BANK COVER 

a. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.

8. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER HOSE (see REMOVAL )  

9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH ELEMENT 

a. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

b. Detach the hose clamp.  

c. Disconnect the vacuum hose.  

d. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.

e. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 wire harness clamps.  

f. Loosen the hose clamp.  

g. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner with element.

10. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK 

a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and throttle control motor connector.

b. Disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.  

c. Disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.  

d. Disconnect the purge line hose.

e. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.  

f. Disconnect the union to check valve hose.  

g. Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

h. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve (for ACIS) connector.
