CAUTION:

• Wrap the tip of flat-bladed screwdriver with a cloth when removing metal clips from garnishes.
• Be careful not to damage the body while removing side trim.

REMOVAL

FRONT PILLAR GARNISH

1.

Release front pillar garnish portion from front body side welt.

2.

Disengage front pillar garnish fixing anchor clips using remover tool (A).

Do not re-use clips, if part is removed.

3.

Once free, pull front pillar garnish upwards to disengage the lower locating tab from instrument panel.

4.

Remove front pillar garnish.

FRONT KICKING PLATE INNER

1.

Disengage front kicking plate fixing pawls from front end portion according to numerical order as shown in
the figure.    

2.

Disengage front kicking plate fixing pawls from center portion,
according to numerical order as shown in the figure.

REAR KICKING PLATE INNER

1.

Disengage rear kicking plate fixing pawls of front end portion indicated by arrow as shown in the figure.

BODY SIDE TRIM

2.

Disengage rear kicking plate fixing pawls from center portion as shown in the figure.

3.

Disengage rear kicking plate fixing pawls of rear end portion as shown in the figure.

4.

Remove rear kicking plate. 

DASH SIDE FINISHER

1.

Remove front kicking plate. Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

2.

Release dash side finisher portion of front body side welt.

3.

Remove dash side finisher fixing clip.

4.

Remove dash side finisher.

CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH

1.

Fully open front door and rear door.

2.

Move front seat to the frontmost position.

3.

Remove front and rear kicking plate inner.

4.

Release center pillar lower garnish portion of front body side welt and rear body side welt.

5.

Disengage outer cover fixing pawls and then remove outer cover.

Disengage center pillar lower garnish fixing pawls and clips according to numerical ordet indicated by
arrows as shown in the figure.

CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH

1.

Remove center pillar lower garnish.

2.

Release center pillar upper garnish portion of front body side welt and rear body side welt. 

3.

Remove front kicking plate and rear kicking plate.

4.

Insert remover tool (A) into each hole on lap pre-tensionner
buckle back side, spread the inner metal portion as shown in the
figure, and pull out lap pre-tensionner tongue (1) while inserting
remover tool (B) into the hole on lap pre-tensioner buckle (with
lap pre-tensioner).

5.

Remove mounting anchor bolt (without lap pre-tensioner). Refer to 

SB-6, "Exploded View"

6.

Disengage center pillar upper garnish lower side fixing metal clips.

7.

Disengage center pillar upper garnish upper side fixing pawls. 

CAUTION:

Never apply excessive force when removing center pillar upper garnish. Otherwise pawl may be
damaged and fragments may drop in panel holes on body.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

Check that pawls are securely fitted in panel holes on body when installing, and then press them in.

REMOVAL

1.

Remove front seat assembly (LH/RH). Refer to 

SE-29, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Remove rear seat cushion and rear seatback assembly. Refer to 

SE-35, "Removal and Installation"

.

3.

Remove center console assembly. Refer to 

IP-19, "Removal and Installation"

.

4.

Remove parking brake control unit. Refer to 

PB-142, "Removal and Installation"

 .

5.

Disconnect G sensor harness connector (CVT models only).

6.

Remove CVT shift selector assembly. Refer to 

TM-617, "Removal and Installation"

.

7.

Disconnect drain hose.

8.

Remove instrument stay mounting nuts (A), and then remove instrument stay LH (1) and RH (2).

9.

Remove steering column hole cover fixing clips (A) and then
steering column hole cover.

10. Remove dash side finisher. Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

11. Remove center pillar lower garnish (LH/RH). Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

 .

12. Remove luggage side lower finisher (front) LH/RH. Refer to 

INT-29, "Luggage side trim"

.

13. Remove floor carpet.

CAUTION:

Be careful not to damage the body panel.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

• When replacing the floor carpet with a new one, install by cutting the front end like the old one. After

that, ensure matching quality between floor trim and instrument lower cover, etc. by tucking. 

• Joints both new floor carpet and old front carpet ends by using a tucker.

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

WARNING:

Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables then wait at least
three minutes.

1.

Remove all body side welt. Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Remove front pillar garnish (LH/RH). Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

3.

Remove center pillar upper garnish (LH/RH). Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

4.

Remove rear pillar finisher (LH/RH). Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

5.

Remove all assist grips.
• Disengage assist grip cap fixing pawl using a remover tool (A),

and then slide assist grip cap and remove it according to
numerical order indicated by arrows in the figure.

HEADLINING

• Slide assist grip forward and remove it.

Remove map lamp finisher. Refer to 

INL-68, "Exploded View"

.

7.

Remove sunroof welt (With sunroof models). 

8.

Remove personal lamp (LH/RH). Refer to 

INL-77, "Removal and Installation"

 (With sunroof models).

9.

Remove room lamp. Refer to 

INL-75, "Removal and Installation"

 (Without sunroof models).

10. Remove sunvisor assembly (LH/RH):

• Remove sunvisor assembly fixing screw (A).

• Remove sunvisor assembly according to numerical order indi-

cated by arrows in the figure.

• Disconnect vanity mirror lamp harness connector (if equipped).

11. Remove sun visor holder (LH/RH) using a remover tool (A)

according to numerical order indicated by arrows as shown in
the figure.

12. Remove headlining clips (A).

13. Remove headlining assembly through the back door.

CAUTION:

• Two workers are required for removal in order to prevent damage.
• Apply protective tape to the portion where contact may occur during work.
• Never bend headlining when removing.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

• Never bend headlining when installing.
• Be careful that the surface is not wrinkled when installing.
• When finstalling assist grip, install metal clip (1) to assist grip

cap (2) and then instal to the body panel.

REMOVAL

LUGGAGE SIDE LOWER FINISHER (FRONT)

1.

Remove rear kicking plate inner. Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

 .

2.

Release luggage side lower finisher (front) portion from rear body side welt.

3.

Remove rear seat cushion assembly and rear seatback assembly. Refer to 

SE-35, "Removal and Installa-

tion"

.

4.

Disengage luggage side lower finisher (front) fixing clips.

5.

Remove luggage side lower finisher (front).

LUGGAGE SIDE LOWER FINISHER 

CAUTION:

Be careful not to damage the body panel.

1.

Fully open back door.

2.

Remove back door weather-strip. Refer to 

DLK-356, "BACK DOOR WEATHER-STRIP : Removal and

Installation"

.

3.

Remove luggage rear plate fixing clips.

4.

Disengage luggage rear plate fixing pawls and metal clips.

5.

Remove luggage rear plate.

6.

Remove rear parcel shelf finisher (if equipped).

7.

Remove luggage floor carpet.

8.

Remove luggage floor board (if equipped).

9.

Remove luggage side lower finisher (front).

10. Remove rear pillar finisher. Refer to 

INT-18, "Removal and Installation"

.

11. Remove trunk side finisher mounting bolts.

12. Remove trunk side finisher.

13. Remove luggage floor carpet front fixing clips.
14. Remove luggage floor carpet front.

15. Remove luggage side lower finisher fixing clips.

16. Remove luggage side lower finisher.

REAR PILLAR FINISHER

CAUTION:

Be careful not to damage the body panel.
1.

Remove rear seat cushion and rear seatback assembly. Refer to 

SE-35, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Remove lower anchor bolt. Refer to 

SB-10, "Exploded View"

3.

Disengage seat belt finisher fixing pawls, and then remove seat belt finisher.

4.

Remove luggage side lower finisher (front). Refer to 

INT-29, "Luggage side trim"

5.

Remove luggage room lamp (rear pillar finisher LH side only). Refer to 

INL-79, "Removal and Installation"

.

6.

Release rear pillar finisher portion of back door weather-strip.

7.

Disengage rear pillar finisher fixing clips and metal clips.

8.

Remove rear pillar finisher (LH/RH).

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

Visually check clips and metal clips for deformation and damage during installation. Replace with new
one if necessary.
When installing check in advance that clips and metal clips are accurately aligned with the portions on
body panel.

Luggage floor trim

REMOVAL

LUGGAGE REAR PLATE

1.

Remove luggage floor carpet and luggage floor spacers.

2.

Remove back door weather-strip. Refer to 

INT-31, "Removal and Installation"

.

3.

Insert remover tool (A) between luggage rear plate and luggage
rear plate cap (1) to disengage pawls and then remove luggage
rear plate cap.

4.

Remove both clips (B) on luggage rear plate using a remover
tool (A). 

5.

Hold both sides of rear plate, pull upwards to remove.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.

Fully open back door.

2.

Remove screw tap (A) located in back door trim finisher lower
(1) with screwdriver (B).

BACK DOOR TRIM

3.

Insert remover tool (A) between back door trim finisher lower
and back door panel to disengage clips. Starting by the lower
downwards and works around the edges and up to the sides.

4.

Pull downwards carefully the back trim finisher to disengage center clips and remove back door trim fin-
isher.

5.

Remove back door trim finisher upper.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

Visually check clips and metal clips for deformation and damage during installation. Replace with new
ones if necessary.
When installing door finisher, check that clips are securely fitted in panel holes on body, and then
press them in.
