INSPECTION OF ASC INDICATOR LAMP, 
ASC OFF INDICATOR LAMP, ABS 
WARNING LAMP AND BRAKE WARNING 
LAMP

Check that the ASC indicator lamp, ASC OFF indica-
tor lamp, ABS warning lamp, and brake warning 
lamp illuminate as follows.
NOTE: The EBD warning lamp is also used as the 
brake warning lamp.

1. When the ignition switch is turned ON, the ASC 

indicator lamp, ASC OFF indicator lamp, ABS 
warning lamp, and brake warning lamp illuminate.

2. The ASC indicator lamp, ASC OFF indicator lamp, 

ABS warning lamp, and brake warning lamp 
illuminate for three seconds

extinguishes

3. Otherwise, check the diagnosis code.
NOTE:

: The ABS warning lamp may illuminate until the 

vehicle speed reaches 10 km/h. As far as 
ASC-ECU stores any diagnosis code related to 
the wheel speed sensor malfunction or the motor 
malfunction as past trouble, ASC-ECU continues 
illuminating the ABS warning lamp until it verifies 
that the malfunction for that code is resolved 
(start-up check).

: The lamp does not turn OFF when the parking 

brake is applied or the brake fluid level is low-
ered.

CAUTION

If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an 
incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this 
diagnosis, always diagnose the CAN bus lines.
