1. Disconnect the transmission 

assembly-transmission lever from the ends of the 
gearshift and select cables.

2. With the bracket installed, remove the gearshift 

and select cables from the transmission 
assembly.

3. After removing the gearshift and the select cables, 

tie them with a string in a place where it will not be 
a hindrance when jacking up the engine and 
transmission assembly.

<<B>> CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER 
ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

1. With the hose installed, remove the clutch release 

cylinder assembly from the transmission 
assembly.

2. After removing the clutch release cylinder 

assembly, tie it with a string in a place where it will 
not be a hindrance when jacking up the engine 
and transmission assembly.

• Before removing the steering wheel and air bag module assembly, always refer to GROUP 52B

. Also, set the front wheels so that they are facing straight forward, and remove the igni-

tion key. If you fail to do this, the SRS clock spring will be damaged, causing the SRS air bag to be 
inoperative and serious injury.
