STEP 4. Connector check: A-08 engine-ECU 
connector or engine-CVT-ECU connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 5 .

NO : 

Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 5. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

• Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.

Q: Is the diagnosis code set?

YES : 

Replace the engine-ECU <M/T> or 

engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>.

NO : 

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP

Code No. P2100: Throttle Valve Control Servo Circuit (open)

OPERATION

• Controls the current that is applied from the 

engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU <CVT> 
(terminals No. 7, No. 22) to the electronically con-
trolled throttle valve (terminals No. 1, No. 2).

FUNCTION

• The engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU 

<CVT> varies the direction and the amperage of 
the current that is applied to the throttle valve 
control servo in order to control the opening of 
the throttle valve.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Conditions

• Ignition switch is in "ON" position <M/T>.

• Throttle valve control servo supply voltage is 6.0 

V or more <M/T>.

• Battery positive voltage is more than 8.3 V.

Judgement Criteria

• There is deviation between throttle valve actual 

opening angle and target opening angle <M/T>.

• Throttle valve control servo current is 0.1 A or 

less for 0.72 second <CVT>.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Failed throttle valve control servo

• Open/short circuit in throttle valve control servo 

circuit or lose connector contact

• Failed engine-ECU <M/T> or engine-CVT-ECU 

<CVT>

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: A-107 
electronic-controlled throttle valve connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 2 .

NO : 

Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 2. Check throttle valve control servo itself.

• Check throttle valve control servo itself (Refer to 

P.13A-366

).

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 3 .

NO : 

Replace throttle body assembly.

STEP 3. Connector check: A-114 engine-ECU 
connector or engine-CVT-ECU connector

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 4 .

NO : 

Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 4. Perform resistance measurement at A-08 
engine-ECU connector or engine-CVT-ECU 
connector.

• Disconnect connector and measure at harness 

side.

• Resistance between terminal No. 93 and earth or 

terminal No. 108 and earth.

OK: Continuity (2 

 or less)

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 5 .

NO : 

Check repair harness between A-08 

(terminal No. 93 or No. 108) engine-ECU 
connector or engine-CVT-ECU connector 
and A-30 (terminal No. 3 or No. 6) earth 
connector.

• Check earthing line for open circuit 

and damage.

STEP 5. Check harness between A-107 (terminal 
No. 1) electronic-controlled throttle valve 
connector and A-114 (terminal No. 7) engine-ECU 
connector or engine-CVT-ECU connector.

• Check output line for short circuit and damage.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 6 .

NO : 

Repair the damaged harness wire.

engine-ECU connector or engine-CVT-ECU 
connector.

• Check output line for short circuit and damage.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 7 .

NO : 

Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 7. Check the trouble symptoms.

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Replace engine-ECU <M/T> or 

engine-CVT-ECU <CVT>.
