Air Charge Temperature (ACT) sensor Location: fitted to the pressure side of the air intake throttle valve.
The ACT sensor measures the intake air or the charge air temperature and supplies the ECM with an analog signal. Fuel Rail Pressure sensor Location: fitted to the diverter rail which in turn is bolted to the high pressure pump at the rear of the engine.
The fuel pressure sensor measures the instantaneous fuel pressure in the fuel rail very precisely within a very short time and supplies a voltage signal according to the pressure. Fuel Temperature sensor Location: the fuel temperature sensor is located on the low pressure side of the high pressure pump in the case of the common rail system. The sensor measures the temperature of the fuel in the low pressure system. Air and excessive heat in the fuel system can have an adverse effect on the operation of the sensor. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valves Location: there are two EGR valves fitted, one to each exhaust manifold. These are water cooled and electronically controlled by the ECM.
