Circuit Operation
When the starter switch is in ON, the power window
relay is energized and battery voltage is applied to the
sunroof control unit. When the sunroof switch is
pressed once in the OPEN position, the open relay en-
ergizes, supplying battery voltage to the sunroof motor
and the sunroof opens to the fully open position. When
the sunroof switch is held in the CLOSE position, the
close/pop-up relay energizes, supplying battery volt-
age to the sunroof motor and the sunroof closes to the
safety stop position. At the moment the sunroof reach-
es the half-way position, the safety stop switch opens
and breaks the circuit to the sunroof control unit and
stops the sunroof in the half-way position. After the sun-
roof switch is released and held in the CLOSE position,
the safety stop switch closes (completing the circuit),
and the sunroof motor closes the sunroof until it reach-
es its mechanical limit. Pressing the CLOSE position of
the sunroof switch again engergizes the close/pop-up
relay again, supplying battery voltage again to the sun-
roof motor. The roof is then popped up in the rear.
