Lo Beam Operation
With the lamp switch in HEAD and the dimmer/passing
switch in LO, the lamp switch provides a ground path to
the headlamp relays. The headlamp relay energizes
and provides battery voltage to the lo beam headlamps
and the lo beam headlamps light up.
Hi Beam Operation
With the lamp switch in HEAD and the dimmer/passing
switch in HI, the lamp switch provides a ground to the
headlight relays and the dimmer/passing switch pro-
vides a ground path for the high beam filaments. The
headlight relay energizes and provides battery voltage
to the headlamps and the hi beams light up.
Battery voltage is also applied to the hi beam indicator
and the hi beam indicator lights up to remind the driver
that the hi beams are on.
Flash To Pass Operation
The flash to pass feature works with the lamp switch in
OFF, PARK, or HEAD (lo beams). When the passing
switch is turned on, it provides a ground path for both
the hi and lo beam filaments and the headlamp relays.
The headlamp relays energize and applies battery volt-
age to the headlamps and to the hi beam indicator lamp
and the hi and lo beams light up. The hi beam indicator
also flashes during the flash to pass operation. The
flash to pass function has no effect if the hi beams are
already on.
Fog Lamp Operation
With the lamp switch in HEAD and the dimmer/passing
switch in LO, the lamp switch provides a ground path to
the headlamp relay which provides power through the
EB-10 (FOG LAMP) fuse to the fog lamp relay. A
ground path is provided for the fog lamp relay through
the fog lamp switch and the dimmer/passing switch.
When the relay is energized, power is provided to both
fog lamps and the fog lamps light. When the fog lamp
switch is turned off or when the dimmer/passing switch
is moved to HI, ground is removed from the fog lamp
relay and the fog lamps go out.
