3B4-8 STEERING COLUMN
3. Starter Switch and Key Cylinder Assembly
• Install the steering lock assembly and insert the
snap ring positively.
• Use new screws.
4. Tilt Control (or Support Bolt)
• Tighten the retaining nuts for the lower steering
column support brackets to the specified torque.
• Tighten the nuts outside the tilt control to the spec-
ified torque to install the lever, and tighten the lever
retaining bolts to the specified torque.
Tighten:
• Lower support bolt and nut to 14 N
⋅m (1.4 kg⋅m/122
lb
⋅ft)
• Tilt control bolt and nut to
Bolt : 45 N
⋅m (4.5 kg⋅m/33 lb⋅ft)
Nut : 16 N
⋅m (1.6 kg⋅m/12 lb⋅ft)
Nut (Non-tilt) : 20 N
⋅m (2.0 kg⋅m/14 lb⋅ft)
5. Steering Wheel
• Install the combination switch.
• Install the steering wheel and tighten the nuts to
the specified torque.
Tighten:
• Steering wheel nut to 50 N
⋅m (5 kg⋅m/36 lb⋅ft)
6. Horn Button
7. Steering Cowl
• Hook up the harness connectors and install the
steering cowl.
