1. Install the grommets (4) and (5), if removed.  

IMPORTANT: Apply a small amount of CLEAN brake fluid to the grommets 

before installation.

2. Install the master cylinder reservoir (3).  

3. Install the master cylinder reservoir roll pin (2).  

4. Install the fluid level sensor electrical connector (6) to the bracket. 

5. Install the master cylinder reservoir bolt (1). 

Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb in). 

6. Remove the brake master cylinder from the CH-47830 .  

7. Install the brake master cylinder and power brake booster assembly. Refer to Brake 

Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module 
Replacement (LHD) or Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and 
Chassis Control Module Replacement (RHD) .  

8. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.  

MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT 

Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the power brake booster. Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement.  

2. Remove the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement. 

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice .

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .

3. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) (2) from the master cylinder. Refer to 

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .  

4. Remove the brake master cylinder (5).

1. Install the BPMV (2) to the master cylinder (5). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator 

Valve Replacement .  

2. Install the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement.  

3. Install the power brake booster. Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement.
