4. Install a NEW cover gasket (504) into the right valve rocker arm cover.

5. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head. 

6. Install the cover bolts with grommets. 

Tighten: Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

NOTE:

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

7. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the threads of the 

bracket bolts.  

8. Install the ignition coil and bracket assembly and bolts. 

Tighten: Tighten the ignition coil and bracket assembly studs to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

1. Install NEW knock sensor oil seals (520) into the valley cover (555). 

Lubricate the seal surfaces with clean engine oil.

IMPORTANT: All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during 

assembly.
