In-Bed Trunk Lid Removal/
Installation

1. Open the in-bed trunk lid.

2. Remove the jack and tool box, spare tire, and spare

tire tray (see page 20-163).

3. From inside the bed floor, detach the hooks (A),

then remove the rear air outlet (B) to outside of the
bed floor (C), and then pass the outlet to the inside
through the outlet opening in the bed floor. Take
care not to scratch the bed floor.

4. Install the air outlet by pulling on the hook portions

until the hooks snap into place.

NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Take care not to scratch the in-bed trunk lid.
• Have an assistant help you when removing and

installing the in-bed trunk lid.

1. Open the in-bed trunk lid.

2. Remove the in-bed trunk lid inner cover (see step 2

on page 20-187).

3. Disconnect the in-bed trunk lid latch actuator

connector (A), in-bed trunk lid opener switch
connector (B), and cylinder switch connector (C).

4. Remove the bolts, then remove the in-bed trunk lid

anchor cables (A) from the in-bed trunk lid (B) and
in-bed trunk lid hinges (C).

5. Detach the cable and wire harness clips (A).

6. Remove the bolts, then remove the in-bed trunk lid

(A) by pulling out the in-bed trunk lid anchor cables
(B) and in-bed trunk lid subharness (C).

7. Install the in-bed trunk lid in the reverse order of

removal, and note these items:

• Make sure the anchor cables and subharness are

routed properly.

• Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.

NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Take care not to scratch the in-bed trunk lid.

1. Remove the in-bed trunk lid (see page 20-166).

2. Detach harness clips (A) from the right in-bed trunk

lid hinge (B), then remove the in-bed trunk lid
subharness (C) from the hinge.

3. Remove the plug caps (A), washers (B), and nuts,

then remove the left in-bed trunk lid hinge (C) and
right in-bed trunk lid hinge (D).

4. Install the hinges in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items:

• Make sure the subharness is routed properly.
• Adjust the in-bed trunk lid alignment (see page

20-169).

1. Swing the tailgate open.

2. Remove the plug caps (A) and slightly loosen the

in-bed trunk lid hinge nuts (B).

3. Adjust the in-bed trunk lid (C) alignment in the

following sequence:

• Adjust the in-bed trunk lid and in-bed trunk lid

hinges (D) right and left, as well as forward and
rearward, by using the elongated holes.

• Loosen the striker bolts (E), and adjust the fit

between the in-bed trunk lid and the in-bed trunk
lid opening by moving the striker (F).

4. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

5. Make sure the in-bed trunk lid opens properly and

locks securely.

6. Reinstall the plug caps.
