SRS components are located in this area. Review the
SRS component locations (see page 24-14) and the
precautions and procedures (see page 24-16) before
doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to

avoid damage when prying components.

• Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
• Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other

interior trim pieces.

1. Remove these items:

• Front seats, both sides (see page 20-97)
• Rear seat assembly (see page 20-117)
• Front door sill trim, both sides (see page 20-60)
• Rear door sill trim, both sides (see step 4 on page

20-61)

• B-pillar lower trim, both sides (see page 20-65)
• Kick panel, both sides (see step 3 on page 20-61)
• Center console (see page 20-76)
• Dashboard center lower cover (see page 20-84)
• Rear seat leg guide cover (see page 20-120)

2. Detach the hooks (A), then remove the footrest

plate (B).

3. Remove the nut (A), and using a 6 mm socket

wrench, release the clip (B), then remove the
footrest (C).

4. Remove the carpet (A).

–1 Remove the clips.
–2 Pull back the rear passenger’s area of the

carpet.

–3 Pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.
–4 Pull both seat wire harnesses (B) out through

the slit in the carpet.

5. If necessary, remove the screw, then remove the

tie-down hook (A) from each side.

6. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items:

• Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the

carpet.

• Check if the clips are damaged or stress-

whitened, and if necessary, replace them with
new ones.

• Slip the slit in the carpet over the hooks on the

rear heater upper duct.

• Push the clips into place securely.

and related parts.

1. Remove the dashboard center lower cover

(see page 20-84).

2. Detach the clips, then remove the console trim (A).

Disconnect the subharness connectors (B), and
detach the harness slip.

3. Pull the center floor tray (A) up by hand to detach

the clips, then remove it.

4. Remove the bolts (A) and screws (B), then remove

the center console (C).

5. Install the console in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items.

• Check if the clips are damaged or stress-

whitened, and if necessary, replace them with
new ones.

• Make sure the connectors are plugged in

properly.

NOTE:

avoid damage when prying components.

• Take care not to scratch the console and related parts.

1. Remove the center console (see page 20-76).

2. Remove the console armrest (see page 20-78).

3. While pushing the beverage holder lever (A), slide

the beverage holder (B) forward, and disengage the
beverage holder stops (C) to remove the beverage
holder.

4. Release the console lid (A).

5. Using a TORX T20 bit, remove the screws, then

separate the console (A) and console frame (B).
