  2    DTC 00283,00285,00283,00285,

00287,00290

Like ly Caus e s

[De s cription]

When no open in the circuit can

be detected and there is no signal output when

the vehicle speed exceeds 20km/h, this DTC is

set.

[Hint]

The likely cause may be the sensor

inadvertently not installed, short circuit in the

sensor coil or wire harness, excessive

clearance between the sensor and the ring gear

or damaged ring gear.

The sensor is not installed inadvertently

Short circuit in the sensor coil or wire harness

Excessive big  clearance between the sensor and

the ring gear

The ring gear is not installed inadvertently

   ABS ECU failure

  3    DTC 00283, 00285, 00287, 00290

Likely Causes

[Description]

When the vehicle speed exceeds

20km/h, if the sensor signal goes beyond the

tolerance range, this DTC is set.

[Hint]

The weak signal may result from the

poor connection or short circuit of the sensor

coil or wire harness, damaged ring gear or

excessively big clearance between the sensor

and the ring gear.

The intermittent poor connection or short circuit of

the sensor coil or wire harness

Excessively big or small clearance between the

sensor and the ring gear

  Damaged ring gear

  Excessively big bearing clearance

  ABS ECU failure

  4    DTC 00283, 00285,00287, 00290

Likely Causes

[Description]

When there is recognized open

or short circuit in the sensor, this DTC is set.

[Hint]

The likely cause may be the poor

connection of the sensor, short circuit in the coil

or wire harness, or fault in the sensor signal

processing circuit in the ABS ECU

Open circuit in the sensor connector or coil

Short circuit in the sensor coil

The sensor connector or wire harness is short to

ground or power supply

Fault in the sensor signal processing circuit in the

ABS ECU

Repair the connector

Check the sensor on each wheel

Remove the ABS ECU connector, check

whether the resistances among the following

terminals is within the specification?

Standard:

1.0~1.3K

LF: 1-2K

RF: 19-20K

LR: 5-6K

RR: 22-23K

Check the corresponding sensor connector

Does the fault reoccur?

Check the wire harness between the ECU and

the sensor

Refer to "Occasional Prob-

lem Service Key Points"

Replace the ABS ECU

  5    DTC 01044

Likely Cause s

[Description] When the ECU programming is

not consistent with the ABS wire harness pin

connection, this DTC is set

ABS wire harness pin connection error

   ABS ECU programming error

Repair the wire harness

Use the scan meter to check whether the ABS ECU

programming is correct

Correct: 01901

Check the ABS wire harness pin connector for continuity

Pin connector: ABS ECU pin 12 and 14
