side air 
curtain to 
gain 
access to 
the 
retaining 
clips.
Move the 
center of 
the clip 
downwards 
to release 
the clip.

1. If the side air 

curtain module 
was deployed, 
check the vehicle 
body side air 
curtain 
mountings and 
ramps for 
deformation.

2. Torque: 6 Nm

Attach the side 
air bag module 
retaining clips in 
the following 
sequence.

NOTE: Make sure that this component is installed to 
the noted removal position. 

5. Torque: 10 Nm 

6. Install the headliner. 

7. Initialize the door window motors.

Removal and Installation

Removal 

WARNINGS: 

The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is active for a certain length of time after the power 

supply has been disconnected. Wait for a minimum of 3 minutes before disconnecting or removing 
any SRS components. 

Make sure that the vehicle electrical system is fully depowered and no other power source is 

connected. 

Wear safety goggles. 

Flat-bladed screwdriver

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
