Installation 

General Equipment 

WARNING: This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for fuel spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions.

Cable ties
Vehicle/axle stands

1. Refer to: 

Diesel Fuel System Health and Safety Precautions

2. Install the transaxle to the engine. 

3. Torque: 48 Nm 

4. Torque: 48 Nm 

5. Torque: 48 Nm 

6. Torque: 48 Nm 

7. Torque: 48 Nm 

  

  

  

  

8. Torque: 24 Nm 

9. Torque: 25 Nm 

10. Install the starter motor.

WARNING: Make sure that the engine and transmission assembly is on wooden blocks and secured with 

suitable retaining straps. 

Secure the engine and transaxle assembly on a suitable workshop table and position it under the vehicle.

12. Loosen: 2 turn(s) 

13. Torque: 133 Nm

1. Torque: 12 Nm 
2. Torque: 80 Nm

NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

15. Raise the vehicle and remove the Vehicle/axle stands.

16. Torque: 80 Nm 

17. Torque: 90 Nm 

18. Connect the fuel supply line and fuel return line quick release couplings.

19. Connect the PCM electrical connectors.

20. Torque: 25 Nm

CAUTION: Twisting the exhaust flexible pipe more than 2 degrees may cause damage resulting in failure.

Tighten all retaining nuts in the sequence shown.

Torque: 

1-5: 25 Nm 
6: 51 Nm 

24. Remove the front subframe.

25. Install the left-hand halfshaft.

 (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).

26. Install the right-hand halfshaft. 

Refer to:

27. Install both front wheels.
