DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

INSTRUMENT PANEL 

The instrument panel consists of the following components: 

z

center instrument panel finish panel  

z

instrument cluster panel  

z

instrument panel finish panel  

z

instrument panel fuse door  

z

instrument panel relay cover  

z

lower instrument panel steering column cover  

z

upper instrument panel steering column cover  

CONSOLE - OVERHEAD 

The overhead console consists of the following components: 

z

garage door opener storage compartment  

z

message center  

z

sunglasses bin storage compartment 

If equipped with a roof opening panel, the overhead console consists of the following components: 

z

map lamps  

z

map lamp switches  

z

message center  

z

roof opening panel switch  

CONSOLE - FLOOR, FRONT 

The console consists of the following components: 

z

floor console tray mat (if equipped)  

z

front cupholder assembly  

z

rear cupholder assembly  

z

storage bin cover  

z

CD changer (optional)  

z

video cassette player (VCP) (optional)  

z

VCP bracket (optional)  

z

integrated control panel (ICP) (optional)

CONSOLE - FLOOR, REAR 

The console consists of the following components: 

z

armrest  

z

storage bin  

z

storage tray  

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 

INSTRUMENT PANEL 

Removal 

1. If equipped with power seats, move the seat fully rearward.  

2. If equipped with adjustable pedal system, move the pedal to the full forward position.  

3. If equipped with a instruction transmission, place the transmission in second gear.  

4. Remove the passenger air bag module. Refer to PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .  

5. Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .  

6. Position the battery junction box (BJB) aside. 

z

Release the mounting tabs.
