Symptom: HORN RELAY COIL OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND When Monitored and Set Condition: HORN RELAY COIL OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND When Monitored: Continuously. Set Condition: When no voltage is detected on the Horn Relay Control circuit by the BCM. POSSIBLE CAUSES INTERMITTENT CONDITION FUSE #19 HORN RELAY HORN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND HORN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN BODY CONTROL MODULE TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY 1 Turn the ignition on. t, erase the current Body Control Module DTC’s. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on. t, read the current Body Control Module DTC’s. Attempt to operate the horn. t display: HORN RELAY COIL OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND? All Yes → Go To 2 No → The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent 2 Turn the ignition off. All Yes → Replace the fuse. Check for a short to ground in the Horn Relay Output circuit from the PDC to the horns. No → Go To 3 261 IGNITION, POWER, ACCESSORY |
