Operation

o

f

m

ain

switch

The

electronic

unit

of

the

integrated

main

switch

(D320)

contains

one

mechanical

bi-stable

relay

.T

he

operation

of

this

relay

is

comparable

to

the

mechanics

also

used

in

a

ball

--pen.

When

the

coil

is

briefly

energised,

the

relay

will

switch

of

fand

stay

of

funtil

the

coil

is

briefly

energised

again.

The

relay

will

then

switch

on

and

stay

on.

Electrically

closing

the

main

switch

The

m

ain

switch

(D320)

can

be

closed:

-

electrically

in

the

cab

using

switch

C

853

-

elect

rically

on

th

e

chassis

using

swit

ch

C854

A

TTENTION:

Switches

C853

and

C

854

are

connected

in

series.

This

m

eans

that

both

switches

must

be

in

the

“on”

position

before

the

m

ain

switch

is

“closed”

(battery

connected

to

vehicle’

s

power

supply).

When

C853

or

C854

is

operated,

the

A

1

and

A2

connections

are

connected

through

wire

4176,

contacts

5-7

of

switch

C

853,

wire

4177,

contacts

1-2

of

switch

C

and

wire

4178.

The

internal

relay

w

ill

immediately

be

briefly

energised.

The

positive

terminal

of

the

batteries

is

now

connected

to

the

vehicle’

s

power

supply

.

Note: When

one

of

the

switches

(C853

or

C854)

that

activate

the

electronic

unit

(close

m

ain

switch)

is

operated,

the

m

echanical

bi-stable

relay

(G367)

will

immediately

close

the

contacts.

Electrically

opening

the

m

ain

switch

The

m

ain

switch

(D320)

can

be

opened:

-

electrically

in

the

cab

using

switch

C

853

-

elect

rically

on

th

e

chassis

using

swit

ch

When

or

C854

is

operated,

the

A

1

and

A2

connections

are

disconnected

through

wire

contacts

switch

Note: When

one

of

the

switches

or

C854)

is

operated

while

the

ignition

is

“on”,

the

mechanical

bi-stable

relay

activated

after

seconds.

earth

is

independent

of

the

position

of

the

main

switch.
