(3) Engage clips to attach reading lamp socket to

back of assist handle base.

(4) Place assist handle in position on roof.
(5) Pull and hold assist handle down.
(6) Install front screw to attach assist handle to

roof.

(7) Install screw behind coat hook to attach assist

handle to roof.

REAR SEAT BACK

REMOVAL

(1) Remove rear seat cushion.
(2) Remove fasteners attaching rear seat back and

belts to floor (Fig. 92).

(3) Push rear seat back upward to disengage hooks

at top of seat back.

(4) Remove rear seat from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place rear seat in position in vehicle.
(2) Engage hooks at top of seat back.
(3) Install fasteners to attach rear seat back and

belts to floor. Tighten fasteners to 44 N·m (32 ft. lbs.)
torque.

(4) Install rear seat cushion.

REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLE

REMOVAL

(1) Remove rear seat cushion.
(2) Remove seat belt anchor nut (Fig. 93).
(3) Remove seat belt buckle(s) from stud on floor.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place seat belt buckle(s) anchor over stud on

floor.

(2) Install rear seat belt anchor nut. Tighten to 60

N·m (44 ft. lbs.).

(3) Install rear seat cushion.

REAR SEAT BACK – 40 SECTION

REMOVAL

(1) Open door.
(2) Remove seat cushion.
(3) Remove nuts attaching seat back collar assem-

bly.

(4) Remove seat back collar assembly (Fig. 94).
(5) Remove bolt attaching 40 section (Fig. 95).
(6) Slide seat back 40 section off pin and remove

from the collar assembly (Fig. 96).

INSTALLATION

(1) Place seat back 40 section on pin.
(2) Install bolt attaching 40 section seat back to

collar section. Tighten bolt to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.)
torque.

(3) Place in position seat back collar assembly.
(4) Install nuts attaching seat back collar assem-

bly. Tighten nuts to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.) torque.

(5) Install seat cushion.

REAR SEAT BACK – 60 SECTION

REMOVAL

(1) Open door.
(2) Remove rear seat cushion.
(3) Remove nuts attaching seat back collar assem-

bly.

(4) Remove seat back collar assembly.
(5) Remove bolt attaching 40 seat section.
(6) Remove the 40 seat section.
(7) Remove bolt attaching 60 seat section (Fig. 97).
(8) Slide seat back 60 seat section off pin and

remove from the collar assembly.

INSTALLATION

(1) Install the 60 seat section on pin.

(2) Install bolt attaching 60 seat section. Tighten

bolt to 16 N·m (12 ft. lbs.) torque.

(3) Install the 40 seat section on pin.
(4) Install bolt attaching 40 seat section.
(5) Place in position seat back collar assembly.
(6) Install nuts attaching seat back collar assem-

bly. Tighten nuts to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.) torque.

(7) Install the rear seat cushion.

REAR SEAT BACK COLLAR ASSEMBLY – 60/40
SEAT

REMOVAL

(1) Open door.
(2) Remove rear seat cushion.
(3) Remove nuts attaching rear seat back collar

assembly.

(4) Remove rear seat back collar assembly.
(5) Remove the 40 seat section from the rear seat

back collar assembly.

(6) Remove the 60 seat section from the rear seat

back collar assembly (Fig. 98).

INSTALLATION

(1) Install the 60 seat section from the rear seat

back collar assembly.

(2) Install the 40 seat section from the rear seat

back collar assembly.

(3) Place in position the rear seat back collar

assembly.

(4) Install nuts attaching rear seat back collar

assembly. Tighten nuts to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.) torque.

(5) Install the rear seat cushion.

REAR SEAT BELT RETRACTOR

REMOVAL

(1) Remove seat cushion and back.
(2) Remove upper quarter trim panels.
(3) Remove one lower quarter trim panel.
(4) Remove nut attaching lower seat belt anchor to

floor.

(5) Remove turning loop bolt.
(6) Remove bolt attaching belt retractor to quarter

panel.(Fig. 99).

(7) Remove belt from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place belt in position on vehicle.
(2) Install bolt to attach belt retractor to quarter

panel.

(3) Install the turning loop.
(4) Install nut to attach lower seat belt anchor to

floor.

(4) Tighten nut to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.) torque.
(5) Install lower quarter trim panel.
(6) Install upper quarter trim panels.
(7) Install seat back and cushion.

REAR SEAT CUSHION

REMOVAL

(1) Pull upward at each retainer loop of the rear

seat cushion to disengage retainer loops from cups in
floor (Fig. 100).

(2) Remove rear seat cushion from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place rear seat cushion in position in vehicle.
(2) Engage retainer loops into cup on floor kick-up.
(3) Push downward at each retainer loop of the

rear seat cushion to engage retainers.

REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER

REMOVAL

(1) Remove rear seat cushion.
(2) Disengage the J-strap retainers (Fig. 101).
(3) Cut hog rings to free cover (Fig. 102).
(4) Remove seat cushion cover from seat cushion.

INSTALLATION

(1) Position seat cushion cover on cushion.
(2) Install hog rings to seat cover.
(3) Engage the J-strap retainers.
(4) Steam wrinkles from seat cushion, if necessary.
(5) Install seat cushion.

REAR SHELF TRIM PANEL

REMOVAL

(1) Remove seat cushion and back.
(2) Remove quarter trim lower and upper trim

panels.

(3) Remove push in fasteners.
(4) Pull rear shelf trim panel away from rear glass

to disengage clips (Fig. 103).

(5) Disengage CHMSL wire connector, if equipped.
(6) Remove rear shelf trim panel from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place rear shelf trim panel in position in vehicle.
(2) Connect CHMSL wire connector.
(3) Push parcel shelf trim rearward toward rear

glass and engage clips.

(4) Insert push in fasteners into position.
(5) Install quarter trim lower and upper panels.
(6) Install seat back and cushion.

SUN VISOR

All vehicles with driver and passenger side air

bags must have a colored coded five Bullet point air
bag warning label applied to the sun visor, verify
label availability and ensure the label is installed.

REMOVAL

(1) Remove screw attaching inboard visor retainer

to over head.(Fig. 104).

(2) Remove screws holding outboard visor pivot

base to roof.

(3) Disconnect visor vanity lamp wire connector, if

equipped.

(4) Remove visor from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Engage visor vanity lamp wire connector, if

equipped.

(2) Place visor in position on header.
(3) Install screws to attach outboard visor pivot

base to over head.

(4) Install screw to attach inboard visor retainer to

over head.

TRUNK CARPET

REMOVAL

(1) Remove rear seat cushion and back.
(2) Remove fasteners at forward edge along wheel

housing.
