(3) Disconnect

the

wire

harness

connector,

if

equipped.

(4) Remove bolts attaching top of hinge to deck lid.
(5) With aid from a helper, remove bolts attaching

bottom of hinge to deck lid (Fig. 17).

(6) Remove deck lid from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place deck lid in position on vehicle.
(2) With aid from a helper, install bolts attaching

bottom of hinge to deck lid.

(3) Install bolts to attach top of hinge to deck lid.
(4) Connect wire harness connector.
(5) Align deck lid to achieve equal spacing on all

sides and flush across gaps.

(6) Verify deck lid operation and sealing.

DECK LID COVER

REMOVAL

(1) Release deck latch and open deck lid.
(2) Remove fasteners attaching deck lid cover to

deck lid.

(3) Remove deck lid cover from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place deck lid cover in position on vehicle.
(2) Install fastener attaching deck lid cover to deck

lid.

DECK LID GAS PROPS

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Support deck lid with a suitable prop device.
(3) Remove gas prop lock caps on each end (Fig.

18).

(4) Remove gas prop from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place gas prop in position on vehicle.
(2) Install the lock caps on the gas prop.
(3) Verify deck lid operation.

DECK LID HINGE

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Support deck lid with a suitable prop device or

block.

(3) Remove hinge bolts (Fig. 19).
(4) Remove hinge from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place hinge in position on vehicle.
(2) Install hinge bolts.
(3) Verify deck lid operation and alignment.

DECK LID LATCH STRIKER

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Remove deck lid liner as necessary.
(3) Remove bolts attaching latch striker (Fig. 20).
(4) Remove latch striker from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place latch striker in position.
(2) Install bolts attaching latch striker.
(3) Verify deck lid operation and alignment.
(4) Place deck lid liner in position.

DECK LID SLAM BUMPER

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Pull slam bumper from deck lid.
(3) Remove slam bumper from deck lid.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place slam bumper in position on deck lid.
(2) Push slam bumper into deck lid.
(3) Verify deck lid alignment.

DECK LID WEATHERSTRIP

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Pull deck lid weatherstrip from trunk opening

fence (Fig. 21).

(3) Remove weatherstrip from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place weatherstrip in position on vehicle.
(2) Push deck lid weatherstrip onto trunk opening

fence with molded joint at striker location.

(3) Verify deck lid operation and sealing.

DECK LID LOCK CYLINDER

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Remove fasteners attaching deck lid lining to

rear of deck lid.

(3) Remove bolts attaching deck lid latch to deck

lid (Fig. 14), (Fig. 15) or (Fig. 16).

(4) Remove deck latch from deck lid.
(5) Disconnect power lock connector from latch

solenoid.

(6) Disconnect deck lid ajar switch connector from

latch.

(7) Remove latch from vehicle.
(8) Remove deck lid lock set.
(9) Remove deck lid lock cylinder.

INSTALLATION

(1) Install deck lid lock cylinder.
(2) Install deck lid lock set.
(3) Place latch in position on vehicle.
(4) Connect deck lid ajar switch connector on latch.
(5) Connect power lock connector on latch solenoid.
(6) Place deck lid latch in position on deck lid.
(7) Install bolts to attach deck lid latch to deck lid.
(8) Adjust deck lid latch for proper deck lid to

quarter panel alignment and weatherstrip sealing.

(9) Install fasteners to attach deck lid lining to

rear of deck lid.

(10) Verify deck lid latch operation.

DOOR HINGE DOUBLE ENDED STUD

REMOVAL

(1) Remove door hinge.
(2) To remove double ended stud, double nut stud

and back stud out of door frame. If stud is broken,
use locking pliers on the shoulder of the double
ended stud and back stud out of door frame (Fig. 22).

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Replacement hinge studs have thread sealer
on threads. When reusing original studs, use
Mopar

T

Lock and Seal Adhesive or equivalent on

stud threads.

(1) Install double ended stud into the door frame.

Tighten the double ended stud to 14 N·m (120 in.
lbs.) torque.

(2) Install hinge. Tighten the hinge bolt and nut to

28 N·m (250 in lbs.) torque.

(3) Verify door alignment and operation, adjust as

necessary.

DOOR LOCK CYLINDER

REMOVAL

(1) Remove door trim panel.
(2) Remove water shield, as necessary.
(3) Raise door glass.
(4) Disengage clip holding lock link to lock cylin-

der.

(5) Disconnect link from lock cylinder.
(6) Disconnect clip attaching lock cylinder to door

handle.

(7) Pull lock cylinder from door handle (Fig. 23).

INSTALLATION

(1) Push lock cylinder into socket on door handle.
(2) Insert link into clip on lock cylinder.
(3) Engage clip to fasten lock link to lock cylinder.
(4) Verify lock operation.
(5) Install water shield.
(6) Install door trim panel.

DOOR SILL TRIM

REMOVAL

The door sills are attached with push in fasteners
(1) Remove fasteners attaching door sill trim to sill

panel (Fig. 24).

(2) Remove sill trim from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place sill trim in position on vehicle.
(2) Install fasteners to attach door sill trim to sill

panel.

DRIP RAIL WEATHERSTRIP

REMOVAL

(1) Open front and rear doors.
(2) Remove fasteners attaching drip rail weather-

strip to body and fender tip.(Fig. 25).

(3) Remove drip rail weatherstrip from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place drip rail weatherstrip in position on vehi-

cle.

(2) Start position clip at the fender tip.
(3) Press down till holes are align with fastener

holes in the body.

(4) Install fasteners to attach drip rail weather-

strip to roof rail.

(5) Close doors and verify fit.

FENDER

REMOVAL

(1) Remove headlamp housing. Refer to Group 8L,

Lamps, for proper procedures.

(2) Remove front bumper fascia as necessary to

clear removal path of front fender. Refer to Group 13,
Frame and Bumpers, for proper procedures.

(3) Remove bolt attaching fender to rocker panel.
(4) From inside door opening, remove bolts attach-

ing fender to hinge pillar brackets.

(5) Remove bolts attaching fender to radiator clo-

sure panel.

(6) From inside engine compartment, remove bolts

attaching fender to inner wheelhouse panel.

(7) Remove fender from vehicle (Fig. 26).

INSTALLATION

(1) Place fender in position on vehicle.
(2) From inside engine compartment, install bolts

to attach fender to inner wheelhouse panel.

(3) Install bolts to attach fender to radiator closure

panel.

(4) From inside door opening, install bolts to

attach fender to hinge pillar brackets.

(5) Install bolt to attach fender to rocker panel.
(6) Install front bumper fascia.
(7) Install headlamp assembly.
