(9) After grinding the valve seat, check
the valve tip and cylinder cover surface
dimension and measure the valve height
(A) (Figure 65). Valve specifications
(see Engine – Specifications).

Two. Cylinder checking
1. Checking
(1) Clean all holes on the cylinder and
check for any leakage.
(2) Fix the new engine oil filter (see
Engine-Troubleshooting Steps-Engine
and Engine Oil).
(3) Check for any cracks on the cylinder
surface.
(4) Check the evenness of the cylinder
surface. The grading shall be less than
0.1mm or the cylinder body shall be
replaced.
2. Cylinder diameter
Note: measure the cylinder diameter
and the temperature had better be 21
 (70 F) during measurement
Measure the radial run-out of the
cylinder surface with a dial indicator
(Figure 68) (see Engine-Description).
The cylinder’s measured values of A and
B (Figure 68) shall be 10mm for the top
and bottom (see Engine-Specifications).

Three. Crank shaft bearing shell
1. General description
Note: the upper and lower bearing
shells are not interchangeable.

2. Troubleshooting steps for crank
shaft axial clearance
(1) Fix the dial indicator onto the engine
body as follows (Figure 71).
(2) Move the crank shaft
(3) Calibrate the zero value of the dial
indicator
(4) Move the crank shaft and observe the
dial indicator reading. Reading
description (see Engine-Specifications).
3. Unfixing
(1) Unfix the engine assembly off the car
(see Engine-Unfixing).
(2) Detach the axle shaft off the engine.
(3) Unfix the clutch and pressure plate to
take out the flywheel.
(4) Unfix the crankshaft rear oil seal (see
Engine/Engine Cylinder/Crank Shaft
Engine Oil Seal-Rear-Unfixing).
(5) Fix the engine onto an appropriate
service platform.
(6) Unfix the right engine bracket (see
Engine/Engine Support/Engine Bracket-
Unfixing).
(7) Unfix the crank shaft shock absorber
(see Engine/Engine Body/Shock
absorber-Unfixing).
(8) Unfix the timing chain (see
Engine/Valve Timing/Timing
Belt/Sprocket Wheel and Chain-
Unfixing).
(9) Unfix the intake manifold (see
Engine/Manifold/Intake Manifold –
Unfixing)
(10) Unfix the engine oil gauge and
conduit.
(11) Unfix the engine oil sump (see
Engine/Lubrication/Engine Oil Sump –
Unfixing).
(12) Unfix the engine oil pump bracket
pipe (Figure 72).
