Possible causes 

［Note］When ABS is interrupted by high frequency electromagnetic wave 

or micro prcrosser recognized an incrorrect input speed signal, code is set. 

●  high frequency electromagnetic 

wave interference 

damaged sensor or sensor harness.   

●  defective ABS ECU

11. FAULT W/O CODE DIAGNOSTIC CHART   

1 

Ignition On (Engine off), ABS warning light is not on 

Possible causes 

［Note］ 

ABS warning light not on maybe caused by open warning light voltage 

circuit, burned bulb or damaged warning light control unit. 

● blown fuse 

●  burned ABS warning light blub 

●  open voltage circuit 

●damaged ABS warning light control 

unit. 

 

 

Check ABS warning light fuse at

central electrical box. 

OKAY

No okey

Replace fuse.

Check central electrical box fuse socket.

Not okey   

OKAY

Replace fuse socket 

Remove ABS ECU connector

Ignition: ON position 

Is warning light on? 

YES

NO 

Check if ABS   

warning light burned?

YES 

NO

Replace 

Check if wire connecting ABS

warning light control unit and ECU

short to ground?

Replace electrical harness 

Check if there is open circuit in

ABS electrical harness voltage

Engine, ABS warning light does not go off 

Possible causes 

［Note］ 

Possible causes: 

defective ABS warning light control unit or open ABS warning light ciucuit. 

●defective warning light control unit 

●open ABS warning light control unit.   

● defective ABS ECU. 

 

Note:  

This code only applies to a condition under which there is communication between system and scan tool (ABS voltage 

supply is ok) and no code set. 

 

Check if there is open wire between

ECU and ABS warning light control

unit.

Replace wiring harness. 

NO

Abnormal ABS Opearation 

Possible Causes: 

［Note］This problem has a close relation with driving and road surface 

condition, and it is hard to diagnose. If no code set, perform following check: 

●Sensor not correctly installed 

●Sensor wiring harness has problem 

●damaged sensor 

●damaged gear ring 

●foreign material on sensor 

●damaged wheel bearing 

● damaged ABS HCU (hydraulic 

unit) 

● damaged ABS ECU (electronic 

controlled unit)
