1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).  

2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".  

3. Check if DTC is erased after replacing FAM with "FAM for test".  

4. Is the DTC erased? 

YES  

Replace "FAM for test" with "new FAM" and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE 
REPAIR". 

NO  

Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, 
or damage. Repair or replace if necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE 
REPAIR" procedure. 

VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR 

Refer to DTC B2119. 

DTC B2553 RIGHT HEADLAMP LOW CIRCUIT OPEN ERROR 

COMPONENT LOCATION 

Refer to DTC B2535. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION 

Refer to DTC B2535. 

DTC DESCRIPTION 

The ECM sets DTC B2553 if open in Right headlamp low circuit is detected. 

DTC DETECTING CONDITION 

Refer to DTC B2541. 

MONITOR DTC STATUS 

1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).  

2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF" & FAM: "ON".  

3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)"mode and monitor "DTC Status" parameter.

4. Is the DTC B2553 present? 

YES  

Go to TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION. 

NO  

Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector or was repaired and 
ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, 
corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to 
"VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR" procedure. 

TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION 

Refer to DTC B2119. 

POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT INSPECTION 

1. Check open in power circuit 

1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".  

2. Measure the resistance between headlamp low power circuit of FAM (BCM-FE-60) and headlamp 

(E22-1). 

Specification: infinity ohms

3. Is the measured resistance within the specification? 

YES  

Go to "GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION". 

NO  

Repair open in power circuit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR". 

GROUND CIRCUIT INSPECTION 

1. Check open in ground circuit 

1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".  

2. Measure the resistance between Left turn signal lamp ground circuit (E24-3) and chassis ground. 

Specification: 0 ohms

3. Is the measured resistance within the specification? 

YES  

Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION". 

NO  

Repair open in ground circuit and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR".

DTC B2555 LEFT HEADLAMP LOW CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND ERROR

The ECM sets DTC B2555 if short to ground in Left headlamp low circuit is detected.
