A(R/L) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH) and ground.
Is test light ON?

No

Check for a poor connection at headlight switch.
If OK, repair open or short in the wire "R/L" or
replace.

Connect test light between headlights terminal
A(R/L) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH) and
terminal C(B) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH).
Is test light ON?

Yes

Check a poor connection at headlights. If OK,
replace the headlight bulbs.

No

Check a poor connection at ground. If OK, repair
open in the wire "B" or replace.

High beam headlights do not operate.

Connect test light between headlight switch
terminal A(R) of E-02 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Tes

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "R" to headlight
switch or replace.

Turn headlight switch to "HEAD" position. Make
sure the dimmer switch is in "HU" position.
Connect test light between headlight switch
terminal B(R) of E-01 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at headlight switch.
If OK, repair headlight switch.

Connect test light between headlights terminal
B(R) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH) and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at headlight switch.
If OK, repair open or short in the wire "R" or
replace.

Connect test light between headlights terminal
B(R) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH) and terminal
C(B) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH).
Is test light ON?

Yes

Check a poor connection at headlights. If OK,
replace the headlight bulbs.

No

Check a poor connection at ground. If OK, repair
open in the wire "B" or replace.

High beam headlights do not operate by flash-to-pass switch

Go to next step

No

Repair open or short in the wire "R" to headlight
switch or replace.

With pulled the flash-to pass switch toward
driver, connect test light between headlight
switch terminal B(R) of E-01 and ground.
Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at headlight switch.
If OK, repair headlight switch.

Connect Jumper wire between headlight switch
terminal A(R) and L(R) of E-01.
Connect test light between headlights switch
terminal B(R) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04 (RH) and
ground.Is test light ON?

Yes

Go to next step

No

Check for a poor connection at headlight switch.
If OK, repair open or short in the wire "R" or
replace.

Connect test light between headlights terminal
B(R) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH) and terminal
C(B) of E-03(LH) or/and E-04(RH).
Is test light ON?

Yes

Check a poor connection at headlights. If OK,
replace the headlight bulbs.

No

Check a poor connection at ground. If OK, repair
open in the wire "B" or replace.

Conbination switch (Headlight switch) (With airbag)

1. Disconnect the headlight switch.

2. Check for continuity between terminal as indicated.

3. If not as specified, replace the headlight switch assembly.

Conbination switch (Headlight switch) (Without airbag)

1. Disconnect the headlight switch.

2. Check for continuity between terminal as indicated.

3. If not as specified, replace the headlight switch assembly.

Removal

Headlight/turn signal light assembly

1. Open hood. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remove one screw attaching turn signal light assembly to vehicle.

3. Pull turn signal light assembly forward clear of vehicle.

4. Remove tree bolts attaching headlight assembly to vehicle.

5. Pull turn signal light assembly forward clear of vehicle.

6. Rotate back cover counterclockwise to disengage from light assembly.

7. Pull socket with bulb straight out of headlight and combination light assembly.

Installation

Headlight/turn signal light assembly

1. With bulb installed in socket, align grooves of socket with bosses on headlight and combination light assembly and

insert socket into headlight and combination light assembly.

2. Align back cover with headlight and combination light assembly and install, turning clockwise until properly engaged.

3. Position headlight and combination light assembly on vehicle and install two bolts.

Tightening torque : 61~86 lb-in (7~10 N-m, 70~100 kg-cm)

4. Connect electrical connector to headlight and combination light assembly.

5. Connect negative battery cable.

Replacement

Headlight and position light bulb

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remova electrical connector from headlight and combination lightassembly.

3. Remove back cover by pushing in on cover, then rotating cover counterclockwiseto disengage from headlight and

combination light assembly.

The headlight bulb is filled with a gas which is under pressure. Damageto glass part of bulb can cause bulb to
explode causing possible personalinjury.

Use care when handling halogen headlight bulb. Do not touch glass part of bulb with bare hands. Oil from skin
can cause bulb to fail.

4. Pull socket with bulb straight back and remove it from headlight andcombination light assembly.

5. If bulb has failed, place it in new bulb carton and dispose of properly.

6. Hold replacement bulb by base, or use clean cloth or paper to avoidtouching glass, and install bulb in socket.

7. Align slots on bulb and corresponding bosses on headlight assembly.Insert bulb into headlight and combination

assembly.

8. Install back cover to hold bulb in place.

9. Connect electrical connector.

10. Connect negative battery cable.

High-mounted brake light assembly bulb

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remove cover.
