Remove Selection
Touch the Remove Selection tab at the
top of the screen. Touch the Delete All
soft-key to delete all of the Selections
or touch the Trash Can icon next to the
Selection to be deleted.

Alert Settings
Touch the Alert Setting tab at the top
of the screen. The Alert Settings menu
allows you to choose from “Alert me
to on-air games upon start” or “Alert
upon score update” or both when one
or more of your selections is airing on
any of the SIRIUS channels.

Traffic & Weather
Touch the Traffic & Weather soft-key
to tune to a SiriusXM™ Traffic &
Weather channel.
Touch the Up and Down arrows to the
right side of the list to view all the
available cities. This operation can also
be done with operation of the
Scroll/Tune Knob.
Touch the check box next to the
desired City. A check mark appears
besides the selected City.

Audio

Touch of the audio soft-key fig. 9 to
activate the Audio settings screen to
adjust Balance/Fade, Equalizer, Speed
Adjusted Vol., Music Info Cleanup and
Surround Sound fig. 10. You can return

Balance/Fade

Touch the Balance/Fade soft-key fig. 10
to balance audio between the front
speakers or fade the audio between
the rear and front speakers.
Touching the Front, Rear, Left, or Right
soft-keys or touch and drag the blue
Speaker Icon to adjust the
Balance/Fade.

Equalizer

Touch the Equalizer soft-key fig. 11 to
activate the Equalizer screen.
Touch the + or - soft-keys, or by
touching and dragging over the level
bar for each of the equalizer bands.
The level value, which spans between
±9, is displayed at the bottom of each
of the Bands.

Speed Adjusted Volume

Touch the Speed Adjusted Vol.
soft-key fig. 12 to activate the Speed
Adjusted Volume screen. The Speed
Adjusted Volume is adjusted by
touching of the Off, 1, 2 or 3 soft-keys.
This alters the automatic adjustment
of the audio volume with variation to
vehicle speed.

Music Info Cleanup

Touch the Music Info Cleanup soft-key
fig. 13 to activate the information
screen.
Touch the On soft-key to activate the
Music Info Cleanup.
Touch Off to deactivate this feature.
When Music Info Cleanup is On, the
radio uses the Gracenote

database to

display standard normalized

information for song title, artist,
album, etc.

Surround Sound

Touch the Surround Sound soft-key
fig. 14 to activate the Surround Sound
screen. This feature is not available in
all modes.
Touch the On soft-key to activate
Surround Sound.
Touch Off to deactivate this feature.
When Surround Sound is On, you can
hear audio coming from every
direction as in a movie theatre or
when using a home theatre system.
The different Sound Surround
functions can be activated by touching
the related soft keys:

• Stereo
• Audience
• On Stage

MTC System Voice

Command Button

The MTC Voice Command allows you
to control the Radio, Disc Player, SD
Card, and USB/iPod/AUX/Bluetooth
devices.

NOTE:

Remember to speak in a normal and
peaceful way by turning to the
microphone of the voice command
system located in the front dome
courtesy light group. The ability of the
system voice control to recognize the
user's voice commands can be
invalidated if you speak quickly or
loud.

Radio mode

WARNING!

Any voice-controlled system should be
used only in safe driving conditions
according to local regulations.
Maintain constant attention to
driving. Failure to observe these
precautions may result in an accident
causing serious injury and even fatal
outcome.

By pressing the MTC Voice Command
System

button, a beeping sound

will invite you to impart a voice
command. If no voice command is
imparted, the system will respond:

• “I didn't understand”
• “I didn't get that”, ecc.
If no subsequent voice command is
imparted, the system responds with an
error message and provides some
guidance on what may have been
imparted according to the context in
which you operate. After three
attempts with a negative result, the
voice commands session ends.
Pressing the MTC Voice Command
System

button, while the system is

reproducing is called "intrusion". The
reproduction system is stopped and
after the beep you may impart a voice

command. This will be useful once you
start to learn the options.

NOTE:

At any time, you can impart "Cancel"
or "Help". These commands are
general and can be used from any
menu. All other commands can be
used depending on the currently active
application.

When using the voice command
system you should speak clearly and
with a normal voice volume. The
system recognizes words better if the
windows are closed and the fan of the
air conditioning set to minimum.
At any time, if the system does not
recognize a voice command it will ask
you to repeat.
To replay the available voice
commands list, press the MTC Voice
Command System

button and

impart "Help", to listen to the
available commands displayed on the
screen.

Natural Speech

The natural speech allows the operator
to impart commands or complete
sentences. The system eliminates the
expressions without words and sounds
like "ah" and "eh" and manages
complete words as:

• "I would like to".
The system handles multiple
commands in the same sentence as
"Make a phone call" and "to Kelly
Smith." For multiple commands in the
same sentence, the system identifies
the subject or context, and requires
confirmation as "Who do you want to
call?" if being asked to make a call but
the system has not recognized the
specific name.
The system uses a continuous dialogue,
when requiring more information
from the user it will ask a question
that can be answered without pressing
the voice MTC control system button.

Voice Commands

The MTC Voice Command System is
able to comprise two types of
commands. The universal commands
are always available. The local controls
are available if the supported radio
mode is active.
To start a dialogue press the MTC
Voice Command System

button.

Volume Setting

1. Start a dialogue by pressing the

MTC Voice Command System

button.

2. Impart a command (ex."Help").

3. While the Voice Command

speaks, use the VOL control knob
to adjust the volume to the
optimum level. Note that the
volume setting of the Voice
Command system is independent
from the sound system.

Vocal Recognition (VR) start

session in Radio/Player mode

In these modes you can impart voice
commands listed in the section Voice
Tree.

NOTE:

It is possible to impart commands from
any screenshot, when there is no
ongoing a call and after pressing the
MTC Voice Command System

button.

Change source to Disc mode

To switch to the disc mode, say
"Change source to Disc". It is possible
to use this command in any mode or
screenshot.
To change track, impart “Track”.

General commands can be entered
from any screenshot, as long as there
is no ongoing phone call, after

• Say “Go to AM Radio” to switch to

AM radio band (see Note 1).

• Say “Change Source to iPod” to

Overview

The Player mode is equipped with the
following sources:
• Disc
• USB/iPod
• SD Card
• AUX
• Bluetooth
Player Mode is entered by touching
the Player soft-key located on the
bottom of the display or by inserting a
Disc or a SD Card or by connecting an
USB/iPod/AUX device or by pairing a
Bluetooth device.
To change the mode, once in Player
Mode, touch the Source soft-key fig.
15.

Disc Mode

Disc Mode is entered by either
inserting a Disc or by touching the
Player soft-key located on the bottom
of the display. Once in Player Mode,
touch the source soft-key and select
Disc fig. 15.
A “No Disc” message will be displayed
on the screen in the Disc mode when a
Disc is not present in the MTC System.

Inserting Compact Disc

Gently insert one Disc into the Disc
player with the Disc label facing up.
The Disc will automatically be pulled
into the player and the Disc icon will
illuminate on the MTC System display.
If a Disc does not go into the slot more
than 1.0 in (2.5 cm), a disc may already
be loaded and must be ejected before
a new disc can be loaded.
If you insert a disc with the ignition
ON and the MTC System ON, the unit
will switch from to Disc mode and
begin to play when you insert the disc.
The display will show the track
number, and index time in minutes
and seconds. Play will begin at the
start of track 1.

WARNING!

• This Disc player will accept 4-3/4 in

(12 cm) discs only. The use of other
sized discs may damage the Disc
player mechanism.

• Do not use adhesive labels. These

labels can peel away and jam the
player mechanism.

• The MTC System is able to operate a

single Disc player. Do not attempt to
insert a second Disc if one is already
loaded.

EJECT Button - Ejecting a Disc

Press the EJECT button to eject the
Disc.
If you have ejected a disc and have not
removed it within 10 seconds, it will be
reloaded. If the Disc is not removed,
the MTC System will reinsert the Disc
but will not play it.
A disc can be ejected with the MTC
System and ignition OFF.

Seek Up/Down

Touch and release the right arrow
soft-key for the next selection on the
Disc. Touch and release the left arrow
soft-key to return to the beginning of
the current selection, or return to the

beginning of the previous selection if
the Disc is within the first second of
the current selection.

Fast Seek Up

Touch and hold the right arrow
soft-key and the Disc player will begin
to fast forward through the current
track until the soft-key is released.

Fast Seek Down

Touch and hold the left arrow soft-key
and the Disc player will begin to
rewind through the current track until
the soft-key is released.

Browse

Touch the browse soft-key to display
the browse window. The left side of
the browse window displays a list of
ways you can browse through the
contents of the Disc. If supported by
the device, you can browse by Folders,
Artists, Playlists, Albums, Songs, etc.
Touch the desired soft-key on the left
side of the screen. The center of the
browse window shows items and it’s
sub-functions, which can be scrolled
by touching the Up and Down
soft-keys to the right.
The Scroll/Tune knob can also be used
to scroll.

Source

Touch the Source soft-key to select the
desired audio source, Disc, USB/iPod,
SD Card, AUX or Bluetooth fig. 15.
This screen will time out after a few
seconds and return to the main radio
screen if no selection is made.

Repeat

Touch the repeat soft-key to toggle
the repeat functionality. The repeat
soft-key is highlighted when active.
The Player will continue to play the
current track, repeatedly, as long as
the repeat is active.

Shuffle

Touch the shuffle soft-key to play the
selections on the compact disc in
random order to provide an
interesting change of pace. Touch the
soft-key a second time to turn this
feature off. The shuffle soft-key is
highlighted when active.

Info

Touch the info soft-key to display the
current track information. Touch the
info soft-key a second time to cancel
this feature.

Tracks

Touch the trks soft-key to display a
pop up with the Song List. The
currently playing song is indicated by
an arrow and lines above and below
the song title.
Touching the trks soft-key while the
pop up is displayed will close the pop
up.

Audio

Refer to Audio in Radio Mode section
for adjusting the audio settings.

Player Mode

USB/iPod Mode

USB/iPod Mode is entered by either
inserting a USB device or iPod and
cable into the USB Port or by touching
the Player soft-key located on the
bottom of the display. Once in Player
Mode, touch the source soft-key and
select USB fig. 15.

Inserting USB/iPod Device

Gently insert the USB/iPod device into
the USB Port.
If you insert a USB/iPod device with the
ignition ON and the MTC System ON,
the unit will switch to USB/iPod mode
and begin to play when you insert the
device.
The display will show the track
number, and index time in minutes
and seconds. Play will begin at the
start of track 1.

Seek Up/Down

Touch and release the right arrow
soft-key for the next selection on the
USB device/iPod. Touch and release the
left arrow soft-key to return to the
beginning of the current selection, or
return to the beginning of the
previous selection if the USB/iPod
device is within the first second of the
current selection.

Fast Seek Up

Touch and hold the right arrow
soft-key and the USB/iPod device will
begin to fast forward through the
current track until the soft-key is
released.

Fast Seek Down

Touch and hold the left arrow soft-key
and the USB/iPod device will begin to
rewind through the current track until
the soft-key is released.

Browse

Touch the browse soft-key to display
the browse window. The left side of
the browse window displays a list of
ways you can browse through the
contents of the USB/iPod device. If
supported by the device, you can
browse by Folders, Artists, Playlists,
Albums, Songs, etc. Touch the desired
soft-key on the left side of the screen.
The center of the browse window
shows items and it’s sub-functions,
which can be scrolled by touching the
Up and Down soft-keys to the right.
The Scroll/Tune knob can also be used
to scroll.

ABC Jump

Touch the ABC Jump soft-key tab at
the top of the screen to search an
alpha numeric keypad used to search
by letter/number for a certain Folder,
Artist, Song, Album, or Genre. Touch
one letter to select all contents that
start with that letter. Touch the 123
soft-key to display all contents that
start with numbers. Touch the 123
soft-key again to return to letters.
Touch the X soft-key to exit the ABC
Jump feature.

NOTE:

Many features of this system are speed
dependent. For your own safety these
features may be grayed out and not
accessible while the vehicle is in
motion. Pull over at a safe location to
complete your task.

Search

Touch the Search soft-key tab at the
top of the screen to display the
Keyboard fig. 16. This allows you to
enter a folder or file name to be
searched.

Player Mode

between Upper Case and Lower Case

Touch the Folders soft-key on the left
side of the screen to display the
Folders scroll menu. The Folders list
consists of folders and files sorted
alphanumerically, followed by a list of
files sorted similarly. You can Browse

the contents of a subfolder by
touching the Folder Name in the list.
Touch the Back Arrow soft-key to
return or back up to a previous folder
level.

Artist

Touch the Artist soft-key on the left
side of the screen to display the Artists
list in which you can Scroll, Search,
and Jump to operations.

Playlists (for versions/markets,

where provided)

Touch the Playlists soft-key on the left
side of the screen to display the
current playlist information.

Songs

Touch the Songs soft-key on the left
side of the screen to display the Songs
list in which the user can Scroll,
Search, and Jump to operations.
The currently playing song is displayed
with a black background, and lines
both above and below the title.

Albums

Touch the Albums soft-key on the left
side of the screen to display the
Albums list in which you can Scroll,
Search, and Jump to operations.

Genres

Touch the Genres soft-key to display
the Albums list in which you can Scroll,
Search, and Jump to operations.

select SD Card.

Inserting SD Card

Gently insert the SD Card into the SD
Card slot. If you insert a SD Card with
the ignition ON and the MTC System
ON, the unit will switch to SD Card
mode and begin to play when you
insert the card. The display will show
the track number, and index time in
minutes and seconds. Play will begin at
the start of track 1.

Inserting Auxiliary Device

Gently insert the Auxiliary device cable
into the AUX Port. If you insert an
Auxiliary device with the ignition ON
and the MTC System ON, the unit will
switch to AUX mode and begin to play
when you insert the device cable.

Controlling the Auxiliary

Device

The control of the auxiliary device
(e.g., selecting playlists, play, fast
forward, etc.) cannot be provided by
the MTC System; use the device
controls instead.
Adjust the volume with the MTC
Volume tuner, or with the volume of
the attached device.

Player Mode

NOTE:

The MTC System is acting as the
amplifier for audio output from the
Auxiliary device. Therefore if the
volume control on the Auxiliary device
is set too low, there will be insufficient
audio signal for the MTC System to
play the music on the device.

Favourites” to start your radio
playing the album “Ragtime
Favourites” (see Note 1, 4).

• Say “Play the artist Scott Joplin” to

start your radio playing the artist
“Scott Joplin” (see Note 1, 4).

• Say “Play the song Maple Leaf Rag”

to start your radio playing the track
“Maple Leaf Rag” (see Note 1).

• Say “Play the genre Rock” to start

your radio playing “Rock” genre

• Say “Play the playlist Party Tunes” to

start your radio playing the playlist
“Party Tunes” (See Note 1, 3).

• Say “Play the podcast Weekly Auto

Podcast” to start your radio playing

• Say “Play the audio book Dr. Jekyll
