Description

A.

INTRODUCTION

The Illustrated Parts List contained herein furnishes spare parts and replacement parts

information and provides general part and assembly information necessary for maintenance of
the Tug Manufacturing Corporation Model MA Tow Tractor.

B.

USING THE ILLUSTRATED PARTS LIST (IPL)

The Illustrated Parts List provides an illustrated break-down of components and systems which

comprise the tractor. It consists of numerous figures with corresponding parts lists. The IPL is
arranged in such a manner that each list is on a right hand page, with the corresponding
illustration on the facing left hand page.

1.

Figure and Index Number

The figure and index number indicates the figure number (found on the facing page) and

the item number which identifies each line item shown on that figure. (See illustration
below).

2.

Part Numbers and Vendor Codes

Parts are identified by part numbers assigned by Tug Manufacturing Corporation or, in the

case of fasteners etc., by industry standard identification. When applicable, vendors’ part
numbers are also included and the individual vendor for each item is identified.

Vendor codes are provided for quick, easy reference to an individual vendor. The vendor

can be identified by referring to the Vendor Codes Reference List in this section.

2.

Part Numbers and Vendor Codes (cont.)

Vendor codes are not in any way related to the part number. They should not be used when

ordering replacement parts. They are for use as a reference only when using this manual.

See the illustration below for further explanation of part numbers.

3.

Description and Quantity

A description and quantity is provided for each part listed in the IPL. The quantity given for

subassemblies and sub-parts is the number of subassemblies/parts contained in the
component depicted in the associated illustration, not necessarily the complete tractor.

4.

Effectivity

The effectivity of each item is given in part or in whole in the “Effective” column of the IPL.

Information concerning the effectivity of a particular part may also be found in the
description column, the figure title, or in notes located at the bottom of the IPL page.
Effectivity is usually (but not always) associated with the serial number.  See the following
examples for further explanation of effectivity information.

at 1-800-989-8499 (toll free in Canada and U.S.) or (U.S.A.) 404-422-7233 (outside United
States and Canada). Ask for TUG SHOP when calling. FAX messages can be sent to (U.S.A.)
404-422-8730.

When ordering spare parts, please be prepared with Tug part numbers (vendor part number and
