INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1

Inspect terminal voltage (L4 – body ground).

PREPARATION:
Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector and turn the igni-
tion switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table be-
low.
OK:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

F23 – 24 (L4) – Body ground

10 to 14 V

Check and replace 4WD control ECU
(See page

).

O/D Main Switch Circuit

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The O/D main switch (transmission control switch) is a momentary type switch. When pressing the O/D main
switch once, the O/D OFF indicator light comes on and the ECM prohibits shifting into O/D. When pressing
it once again, the O/D OFF indicator light goes off and the ECM allows shifting into O/D. Turning the IG switch
OFF will reset the O/D OFF indicator light.
