REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe assembly.
The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.

1. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and clamp.

(b) Disconnect the exhaust pipe support to remove the tailpipe assembly.

(c) Remove the gasket.

2. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts.

(b) Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports to remove the center exhaust pipe assembly.

(c) Remove the 2 gaskets.

3. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 nuts.

(b) Disconnect the exhaust pipe support to remove the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly.

(c) Remove the gasket.

5. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1) 

6. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) 

7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly.

(b) Remove the gasket.

8. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1) 

9. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE MONOLITHIC CONVERTER PROTECTOR (for Bank 1)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts, lower monolithic converter protector, upper monolithic converter

protector, 2 No. 1 converter protector stays and 2 No. 2 converter protector stays from the front No. 2

exhaust pipe assembly.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 MONOLITHIC CONVERTER PROTECTOR (for Bank 1)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts, lower No. 1 monolithic converter protector, upper No. 1 monolithic

converter protector and 4 No. 1 converter protector stays from the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly.

3. REMOVE MONOLITHIC CONVERTER PROTECTOR (for Bank 2)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts, lower monolithic converter protector, upper monolithic converter

protector, 2 No. 1 converter protector stays and 2 No. 2 converter protector stays from the front

exhaust pipe assembly.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 MONOLITHIC CONVERTER PROTECTOR (for Bank 2)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts, lower No. 1 monolithic converter protector, upper No. 1 monolithic

converter protector and 4 No. 1 converter protector stays from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
