REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

(b) Install the starter pinion drive lever and rubber seal to the starter center bearing clutch.

(c) Install the starter center bearing clutch together with the starter pinion drive lever and rubber seal to

the starter drive housing.

(d) Apply high-temperature grease to the planetary gears and

2. INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the starter armature to the starter yoke.

NOTICE:

3. INSTALL STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

(a) Push out the 4 brushes from the brush holder so that they

are held in place by the springs as shown in the illustration.

(b) Install the brush holder to the starter armature and push in

the 4 brushes.

NOTICE:

Check that the positive (+) lead wires are not grounded.

(c) Insert the grommet between the positive side and negative

side.

4. INSTALL STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the starter armature plate to the starter yoke.

NOTICE:

Install the starter armature plate so that the keyway is

positioned between key A and key B.

(b) Install the commutator end frame with the 2 screws.

Torque:

1.5 N·m {15 kgf·cm, 13in·lbf}

(d) Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 bolts.

Torque:

6.0 N·m {61 kgf·cm, 53in·lbf}

5. INSTALL MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply high-temperature grease to the plunger hook.

Torque:

7.5 N·m {76 kgf·cm, 66in·lbf}

(d) Connect the lead wire to the magnet starter switch with the nut.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the flywheel housing side cover.

(b) Install the starter with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

37 N·m {377 kgf·cm, 27ft·lbf}

(c) Install the starter wire with the nut.

Torque:

9.8 N·m {100 kgf·cm, 87in·lbf}

(d) Connect the starter connector.

(e) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

2. INSTALL STARTER COVER

(a) Install the starter cover with the 3 bolts.

Torque:

12 N·m {117 kgf·cm, 8ft·lbf}

3. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 

5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket and the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold RH with 3 new nuts.

Torque:

54 N·m {554 kgf·cm, 40ft·lbf}

(b) Install a new gasket and the exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

48 N·m {489 kgf·cm, 35ft·lbf}

(c) Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

(d) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector and attach the 2 clamps.
