REMOVAL 

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

NOTE:



Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected

2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER (See REMOVAL )  

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REPLACEMENT )  

6. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (See DRIVE BELT )  

7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 

a. Remove the 5 clips and apron seal.  

8. DISCONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

9. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 

a. Disconnect the generator connector.  

b. Remove the terminal cap and nut, and disconnect the generator wire.  

c. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness bracket from the generator.

d. Remove the 3 bolts, nut and generator. 

(see INITIALIZATION ).  



After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system 
requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of 
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch 
OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from 
the negative (-) battery terminal.

DISASSEMBLY 

1. REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY 

SST 09820-63011 (09820-06010,09820-06020)  

HINT: 

GENERATOR PULLEY SST SPECIFICATION

a. Hold SST 1-A with a torque wrench, and tighten SST 1-B clockwise to the specified torque. 

Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)  

b. Mount SST 2 in a vise.  

c. Insert SST 1-A and B into SST 2, and attach the pulley nut to SST 2.

Check that SST is secured on the rotor shaft.

d. To loosen the pulley nut, turn SST 1-A in the direction shown in the illustration.

e. Remove the generator from SST 2.  

f. Turn SST 1-B, and remove SST 1-A and B.  

g. Remove the pulley nut and pulley.

NOTE:

To prevent damage to the rotor shaft, do not loosen the pulley nut 
more than one-half turn.
