1.

COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL

1. Select “METER/M&A” using CONSULT.

2. Select “FUEL METER” in “Data Monitor”.

3. Check the “FUEL METER” value and compare with the fuel gauge of the combination meter. Fuel gauge

and Data Monitor indications should be close. 

Does the data monitor value approximately match the fuel gauge indication?

YES

>> Inspection End.

NO

>> Replace combination meter. Refer to 

MWI-84, "Removal and Installation"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT AND FUEL PUMP (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR) CIRCUIT

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect combination meter connector and fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump (fuel level sensor) con-

nector.

3. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump

(fuel level sensor) harness connector.

4. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair harness or connector.

2.

CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT AND FUEL PUMP (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR) GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump (fuel level sensor) harness connector and com-

bination meter harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT AND FUEL PUMP (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR)

1. Remove the fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump (fuel level sensor). Refer to 

FL-5, "Removal and Installa-

tion"

.

2. Check the resistance between fuel level sensor unit and fuel

pump (fuel level sensor).

*: When float rod is contact with stopper.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Replace fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump (fuel level sensor). Refer to 

FL-5, "Removal and

Installation"

.

2.

CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT (SUB)

1. Remove the fuel level sensor unit (sub). Refer to 

FL-5, "Removal and Installation"

.

2. Check the resistance between fuel level sensor unit (sub).

*: When float rod is contact with stopper.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Inspection End.

NO

>> Replace fuel level sensor unit (sub). Refer to 

FL-5,

"Removal and Installation"

.

COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL

1. Select “METER/M&A” using CONSULT.

2. Select “PKB SW” in “Data Monitor”.

3. Check the “PKB SW” status according to the following conditions:

YES

NO

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to 

MWI-33, "Wiring Diagram"

.

1.

CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect combination meter harness connector M76 and parking brake switch harness connector E52.

2. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector M76 terminal 26 and parking brake

switch harness connector E52 terminal 1.

3. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector M76 terminal 26 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Inspection End.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness or connector.
