< DTC/CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS >

P31C5, P31C6 VCM

P31C5, P31C6 VCM

DTC Logic

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

PRECONDITIONING

• Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.

CAUTION:

During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some

kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the

vehicle handling.

• Make sure that 12V battery voltage is 11 V or more.

>> GO TO 2.

2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1

With CONSULT

1. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 10 seconds.

2. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

EVC-312, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> GO TO 3.

3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2

With CONSULT

1. Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.

CAUTION:

During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some

kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the

vehicle handling.

2. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

EVC-312, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK VCM-1

With CONSULT

1. Erase DTC.

2. Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.

CAUTION:

During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some

kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the

vehicle handling.

3. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal and wait at least 1 minute. Refer to 

EVC-9, "Precautions for

Removing Battery Terminal"

.

4. Reconnect 12V battery negative terminal.

5. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 5 minutes.

Is DTC “P31C5” or P31C6” detected again?

YES

>> Replace VCM. Refer to 

EVC-423, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

CHECK VCM-2

With CONSULT

1. Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.

CAUTION:

During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some

kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the

vehicle handling.

2. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Check DTC.
Is DTC “P31C5” or P31C6” detected again?

YES

>> Replace VCM. Refer to 

EVC-423, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> INSPECTION END

1.

With CONSULT

1. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 10 seconds.

2. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

EVC-314, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> GO TO 3.

3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2

With CONSULT

1. Set timer charge start time to 5 minutes later.

2. Turn power switch OFF.

3. Connect EVSE (With AC power input) and wait until battery charge starts.

4. Wait at least 10 minutes after starting timer charge.

5. Turn the power switch ON while charging.

6. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

EVC-314, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK VCM

With CONSULT

1. Erase DTC.

2. Turn power switch OFF and wait at least 90 seconds.

CAUTION:

During this period, never perform vehicle handling such as opening and closing of doors. If some

kind of vehicle handling is performed, then wait another 90 seconds or more from the time of the

vehicle handling.

5. Turn power switch ON and wait at least 6 minutes.

6. Check DTC.

With CONSULT

Perform confirmation procedure again. Refer to 

EVC-314, "DTC Logic"

Is DTC “P31C7” detected again?

YES

>> Replace VCM. Refer to 

EVC-423, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO
