When installing the crankshaft bolt, apply the minimum amount
of engine oil to the bearing surface and thread of the bolt.

CAMSHAFT INSTALLATION

1.

Apply engine oil to journals and cams of the camshafts.

2.

Install the camshafts on the cylinder head.

Caution
Be careful not to confuse the intake camshaft with
the exhaust one. There is a screw hole for the cam
position sensing cylinder mounting bolt on the
exhaust-side camshaft.

BEAM CAMSHAFT CAP INSTALLATION

1.

Place the camshaft dowel pin as shown in the illustration.

2.

Tighten the beam camshaft cap mounting bolts to the
specified torque in the order shown in the illustration.

Tightening torque:

 : 10 – 12 Nm

 : 21 – 25 Nm
