Power Window (Rear: RH) Circuit

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the pulse 2 signal from the power window motor 
(rear: RH) cannot be received, power window sub 
switch (rear: RH) sets the diagnosis code No. 4002.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the rear power window motor 

(rear: RH)

• Malfunction of the rear power window sub switch 

(rear: RH)

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: E-06 rear power 
window sub switch (RH) connector and E-05 rear 
power window motor (RH) connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 2.

NO : 

Repair the connector.

STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between E-06 
rear power window sub switch (RH) connector 
terminal Nos.2, 3 and E-05 rear power window 
motor (RH) connector terminal Nos.4, 5.

• Check the input and output lines for open or short 

circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 3.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is 
reset.
(1) Replace the rear power window motor (RH).
(2) Check that diagnosis code is not reset.

Q: Is diagnosis code set?

YES : 

Replace the rear power window sub switch 

(RH).

NO : 

The procedure is complete.

Code No.4003: P/W (RR) Above window position

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the 
input and output signal circuits are normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the rear-right door window glass exceeds the fully 
closed position, power window main switch sets the 
diagnosis code No. 4003. And, if the rear door win-
dow glass (rear: RH) is removed or installed with the 
power is supplied to the power window sub switch 
(rear: RH) sets this diagnosis code.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the rear power window motor 

<right side>

• Malfunction of the rear power window sub switch 

(rear: RH)

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Confirm the rear power window <right 
side> learning function.
(1) Check that the rear power window sub switch 

(RH) has learned the fully closed position of the 
window (Refer to 

P.42-172

).

(2) On completion, check that diagnosis code 

No.4003 is not reset.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The procedure is complete.

NO : 

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is 
reset.
(1) Replace the rear power window motor <right 

side>.

(2) Check that diagnosis code is not reset.

Q: Is diagnosis code set?

YES : 

Replace the rear power window sub switch 

(RH).

NO : 

The procedure is complete.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the earth fault of the power window motor (rear: 
RH) sensor power supply is detected, power window 
sub switch (rear: RH) sets the diagnosis code No. 
4004.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the rear power window motor 

(rear: RH)

• Malfunction of the rear power window sub switch 

(rear: RH)

• Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: E-06 rear power 
window sub switch (RH) connector and E-05 rear 
power window motor (RH) connector

• Check the power supply line for open or short cir-

cuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 3.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is 
reset.
(1) Replace the rear power window motor (RH).
(2) Check that diagnosis code is not reset.

Q: Is diagnosis code set?

YES : 

Replace the rear power window sub switch 

(RH).

NO : 

The procedure is complete.

Code No.4005: P/W (RR) 3 Times jam-protection <Double cab>

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the 
input and output signal circuits are normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the anti-trap function is activated consecutively 
three times or more, power window sub switch (rear: 
RH) sets the diagnosis code No. 4005.

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Malfunction of the rear power window motor 

(rear: RH)

• Malfunction of the rear power window sub switch 

(rear: RH)

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Confirm the rear power window <right 
side> learning function.
(1) Check that the rear power window sub switch 

(RH) has learned the fully closed position of the 
window (Refer to 

P.42-172

).

(2) On completion, check that diagnosis code 

No.4005 is not reset.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The procedure is complete.

NO : 

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is 
reset.
(1) Replace the rear power window motor (RH).
(2) Check that diagnosis code is not reset.

Q: Is diagnosis code set?

YES : 

Replace the rear power window sub switch 

(RH).

NO : 

The procedure is complete.

Code No.4008: P/W (RR) Parameter read fail

 

Code No.4009: P/W (RR) Position read fail

CAUTION

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the 
input and output signal circuits are normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

• If the power window sub switch (rear: RH) infor-

mation cannot be read, power window sub switch 
(rear: RH) sets the diagnosis code No. 4008.

• If the rear-right door window glass position can-

not be read, power window sub switch (rear: RH) 
sets the diagnosis code No. 4009.
