Check for continuity between body ground and audio unit connector A (20P) No. 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 16, 17 Repair short in the wire between the audio unit and speaker. Substitute a known-good audio unit and recheck. If the symptom/ indication goes away, NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first. 1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). 2. Turn on the audio unit and check for sound in each mode (AM, FM, XM, and CD). Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time.
