Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ). 7. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ). 8. Remove the steering joint bolts, and disconnect the steering joint by moving the steering joint (A) toward the column. Fig. 54: Identifying Steering Joint 9. Remove the center guide from the top of the pinion shaft (B) (if equipped), and discard it. 10. Remove the cotter pin (A) from the tie-rod ball joint nut (B), and loosen the nut.
