Installation 

1. Lubricate and install the O-ring seals on the A/C evaporator core orifice. 

z

Use PAG oil or equivalent.  

2. Place the A/C evaporator core orifice into the special tool.

3. Insert the A/C evaporator core orifice into the condenser to evaporator line until seated.

4. Remove the special tool.

5. Install the condenser to evaporator line. Refer to LINE-4.2L or LINE-4.6L and 5.4L .  

SUCTION ACCUMULATOR - 4.2L 

Removal and Installation 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.  

2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .  

3. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.

4. Remove the nut and disconnect the manifold and tube fitting. 

NOTE:

Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air 
conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system 
contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction 
accumulator.

Discard the O-ring seal.

5. Remove the accumulator bracket clamping bolt.
